Making Digital Poster Using New Technologies

What is a poster? A poster is one of the graphic designs. It is a placard

or announcement posted on public places. It can be seen on windows, walls
and along in the streets. It has a goal to communicate and give message to
the people through words, pictures and symbols.
Posters are important because it helps spread informations, warnings
and reminders like buying products, missing persons, celebrations and other
related events. Posters continue to be a largely popular media format that
make visual statement. They come of different styles and format.
Now, look at the sample poster below. How do you think this poster

How to design a digital poster?

Before you can design a poster, you need to understand the art and
the textual elements to be applied. Always remember that in making a poster,
words and images are combined together. You must plan it very well so that
it will become successful.

Let’s start.

1. Know the basic layout. Layout is an important in making a poster. It is

arranging everything found within the poster. Make sure to plan a theme or
a message that you want to tell to the people, like buying, warning or giving
information.

2. Choose a software on your computer or an application from your mobile

phone to be used in making a poster. Let us try. Follow the following steps
below.

a. Go to you search button and type PowerPoint.

b. Click layout and choose blank slide.

c. This is the PowerPoint features. You can now move your cursor to the
different tools to use in making your poster.

d. Go to INSERT ICON, choose a folder to where your image has saved.

Select the image then click insert.

e. After clicking the insert, it will bring you back to your layout area.
The image appear on it. Edit the image or the photo. You can remove the
background, apply corrections on the color or format the shape. You can
also resize and drag it to different area.

f. Insert Word Art. Then write the text or words that tells about your
poster

g. You can repeat inserting Word Art and text. You can also change the
font size and the font style of the words

h. You can enhance it more by inserting shapes and fill in colors. Make
sure to choose colors that are not distractive.

 i. Once all important details are done already, do not forget to
save your poster.

j. Go to file icon, click save as. Choose a folder on where to save it.
Save it as JPEG file format. Create a file name like POSTER 1. Lastly,
click save.

➢ You can also use a mobile application in making your digital

poster, if you do not have a computer at home. Follow the following
steps below.

1. Download PRO DESIGN Poster Maker App on the Google play

store.
2. Start by clicking the create icon on the app. It will bring you to your layout
area, where you can choose your background and its size.

 3. Go to your gallery and choose an image that you will include in
your poster design.

4. After choosing an image, start editing it by using the different tools of

the app.

5. After doing all the lay outing and editing, save your poster design.

It’s your time to shine! Show your wonderful digital poster using your
computer and mobile phones by applying the skills on lay outing and photo
editing that you have just learned.

Paper-Pencil Activity
Those who do not have laptop and mobile phones you can still have
your own poster. Get a bond paper or any available paper, pencil, ruler,
coloring materials and a marker. Same with digital poster, you still need to
apply the art elements and your skills in making it.

Instructions: This is what you are going to do.

1. I want you to think of a theme or a message that tells about preserving our
Mother Earth.
2. Draw it first on a bond paper. Then color.
3. Make sure that important details have been included in your poster before
lay outing it on your gadget.
4. Follow the rubrics below for you to be guided.
5. Save your artwork. Send it through the messenger, or pass it on the next
session.

Graphic designs need to be well-planned to become successful. The

The use of new technologies is very helpful to create graphic designs.
It helps the artist to make design easily without using traditional way of
making drawings. Today, you just have learned about graphic designs and
