Continuous, online monitoring and • Partial Discharge (PD) is an incomplete breakdown between insulation
analysis of partial discharge or insulation and a conductor
• By assessing the PD parameters, deterioration can be effectively
monitored and problems such as bar vibration, loose wedges, slot
discharge and pollution can be identified
• All MICAMAXX monitors offer constant PD trending information and
alarm functions related to the asset’s operation
• MICAMAXX PD Plus, OVM and Master systems perform pattern
recognition and many other analyses including:
– Number of discharges per measurement, repetition rate
– Apparent charge
– Average discharge current
– Quadratic rate
• The OVM and Master systems can monitor end-winding vibration in
all 3 axis’, giving greater insight into the condition of the stator winding
and insulation (requires additional equipment)
• MICAMAXX enables the measuring of ozone gas which is created
by partial discharge events, brush sparking and contact arcing
(requires additional equipment)
• MICAMAXX Master can additionally monitor rotor faults using either
shaft voltage or air gap mounted magnetic probes (requires
additional equipment)
• Most systems offer 512 MB flash memory for data storage

Local and remote indication allows • State-of-the-art network and Internet technologies allow an expert
for quick system assessment access to the global machine state, anytime from anywhere, in order
to diagnose the machine condition and to give the customer an instant
expert advice
• The status of all modules (i.e. ozone monitor, rotor fault sensors, etc)
can be viewed using the same web-based interface, all in one location
• 4-20 mA analog output is offered on many MICAMAXX models for
remote monitoring and implementation in existing systems
• Local indication including LED’s and backlit LCD display (PDA only)
are offered for quick visual evaluation of equipment

Outputs allow for alarm, control

• MICAMAXX systems offer up to four analog (4-20 mA) outputs for
and/or data logging functions

• Up to four SPDT switches (contacts) and two independent set points
for added alarming and control capability

explosion proof enclosure for use in hazardous locations
• ATEX approved high frequency current transformers optimized to
