Lab Grading Rules Termplan

The Electronics Laboratory I course requires an 80% attendance for successful completion, with specific grading criteria based on midterm, final exam, and laboratory performance. Students must participate in experiments with required materials, and failure to meet these requirements results in a grade of zero. A detailed term plan outlines the schedule for experiments and important dates, including make-up sessions for missed experiments due to holidays.

2024-2025 SPRING TERM

E2E242L - ELECTRONICS LABORATORY I

▪ The attendance requirement for the laboratory is 80%. For students who have previously taken the course
but failed due to lack of attendance, the attendance requirement still applies. For students who did not fail
due to attendance, participation in the laboratory is optional.

▪ The semester grade is calculated by adding 30% of the midterm score, 50% of the final exam score, and
20% of the laboratory grade.

▪ Participation in each experiment, performance during the experiment, and the submitted lab report
determine the score for that experiment, and the average of the scores from all experiments is considered
as the laboratory grade. There is no compensation for the missed experiment; its grade will be evaluated
as 0 (zero / unsuccessful).

▪ For students for whom laboratory participation is optional, the requirements mentioned in the previous
item must be fulfilled to receive a laboratory grade. Otherwise, the laboratory grade will be given as zero.

▪ Experiments will be conducted in groups of two, and the groups determined at the beginning of the
semester cannot be changed afterward.

▪ Each group should attend the laboratory with related components for each experiment (resistor, capacitor,
integrated circuit, etc.), breadboard, experimental sheets, calculator, and multimeter. Students who do not
have their material or hard copies of experimental sheets with them are considered as failed.

▪ Groups that cannot perform their experiments due to a lack of materials will be considered to have failed
the relevant experiments, and no excuses will be accepted.

▪ Each student should actively participate in the experimental steps, such as building the circuit,
measurements, calculations, etc. The questions in the experimental sheets should be answered carefully.

▪ The teaching assistants, İbrahim Ethem Yılmaz, Cemil Zeyveli, and Leyla Arslan, are with you in the lab
during the semester. If you have any questions about laboratories, e-mail the teaching assistants.
▪ Please make sure that you have the materials in the list below by the beginning of the third week of the
semester at the latest.
