Lesson Plan ICT

This lesson plan for a 4th-grade science class focuses on the states of matter, aiming for students to identify, describe, and compare solids, liquids, and gases. The 45-minute session includes an initiative activity, a lecture, video support for struggling students, and concludes with a recap and evaluation through a worksheet. Homework is assigned to reinforce learning by having students write about one state of matter.

Lesson Plan No_____

Class: 4 Date: 22/1/25

Subject: Science Duration: 45 min

Topic: States of Matter Class Strength: 20

1. Specific Objectives:
Bloom’s Lower  Identify and list the three states of matter (solid, liquid,
Taxonom order gas).
y
 Describe the properties of each state (e.g., solids have a
definite shape).

 Use examples from daily life to illustrate each state.

Upper  Compare the properties of solids, liquids, and gases.

2. Teaching Resources:
 Marker
 Board
 Multimedia
 Textbook

3. Classroom Management Rules:

 Raise your hand to speak
 Be respectful to others
 Be punctual
 Keep your class clean

7. Procedure: (45 mins)

1.INITIATIVE ACTIVITY: (05 mins)

I will show students two clear glasses, labeling them as glass A and glass B.Then i will

pour a water into a glass A and i place a object in glass B.Then i will ask from them

what difference do you notice between these two. then they response and then i will

introduce them a topic.

2.DEVELOPMENT: (15 mins)

The teacher will define “States of matter” topic.

 Anything that has mass and occupies space is called matter. A matter is made up
of tiny particles called atoms.Example: Chair, iron, water, air, ice etc.

There are three states of matter:

 Solid
 Liquid
 Gas
1. SOLID: The particles of solid are tightly or closely packed.Solid has a fixed shape
and volume. An example of solids: solid ice, sugar, rock, wood, etc.
2. LIQUID:In a liquid state of matter, particles are less tightly packed as compared to
solids.Liquids take the shape of the container in which they are kept. Liquids have
fixed volume but no fixed shape.Example of a liquid state of matter: water, milk,
blood, coffee, etc.
3. GAS:In gases, particles are far apart from each other.Gases have neither a fixed
volume nor a fixed shape. An example of gases: air, helium, nitrogen, oxygen,
carbon dioxide, etc.

During lecture the teacher will also write the main points and draw diagram on the
board.

3.ADAPTATION: (10 mins)

For those childrens who need extra support, the teacher will show a short video about the
topic for more understanding of the topic. After watching the video the teacher will ask
the students if they understood? if anyone don’t understand or doubts then teacher guide
them to clear their doubts.

thing they learned today about the topic.
5.EVALUATION: (10 mins)

The teacher will provide worksheet to evaluate the students.

6.ASSIGNMENT: (02 mins)

The teacher will give homework.Choose one state of matter and write a short paragraph
about its properties and examples.Include at least one interesting fact.
