1. Find Unit Normal vector to the surface 𝑥𝑥 2 + 𝑦𝑦 2 + 2 𝑧𝑧 2 = 26 at (2,2,3).
2. Find (i) div (𝐹𝐹� ) (ii) curl (𝐹𝐹� ) where 𝐹𝐹� = 𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔(𝑥𝑥 3 + 𝑦𝑦 3 + 𝑧𝑧 3 − 3𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥)
3. Find the directional derivative of 𝑓𝑓(𝑥𝑥, 𝑦𝑦, 𝑧𝑧) = 𝑥𝑥𝑦𝑦 3 + 𝑦𝑦𝑧𝑧 3 at the point (2, −1,1) in the direction of
vector 𝑖𝑖 + 2𝑗𝑗 + 2𝑘𝑘.
4. Find the directional derivative of the function 𝑓𝑓 = 𝑥𝑥 2 − 𝑦𝑦 2 + 2𝑧𝑧 2 at the point P(1,2,3) in the direction
of the line PQ where Q=(5,0,4). Also calculate the magnitude of maximum derivative.
5. Find the directional derivative of 𝜙𝜙(𝑥𝑥, 𝑦𝑦, 𝑧𝑧) = 𝑥𝑥 2 𝑦𝑦𝑦𝑦 + 4𝑥𝑥𝑧𝑧 2 at the point (1, −2, −1) in the direction of
the normal to the surface 𝑓𝑓(𝑥𝑥, 𝑦𝑦, 𝑧𝑧) = 𝑥𝑥 𝑙𝑙𝑙𝑙𝑙𝑙 𝑧𝑧 − 𝑦𝑦 2 at (−1,2,1).
6. Find the Greatest Value of the Directional derivative of the function f=𝑥𝑥 2 𝑦𝑦𝑧𝑧 3 at the point 𝑃𝑃 (2,1, −1).
7. Find the value of 𝜆𝜆 if the vector (𝑥𝑥 + 3𝑦𝑦) 𝑖𝑖 + (𝑦𝑦 − 2𝑧𝑧) 𝑗𝑗 + (𝑥𝑥 + 𝜆𝜆𝜆𝜆) 𝑘𝑘 is solenoidal.
8. Check whether the vector (𝑦𝑦 2 − 𝑧𝑧 2 + 3𝑦𝑦𝑦𝑦 − 2𝑥𝑥) 𝑖𝑖 + (3𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥 + 2𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥) 𝑗𝑗 + (3𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥 − 2𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥 + 2𝑧𝑧) 𝑘𝑘 is
solenoidal or irrotational or both.
9. Prove that (i) div (𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝐹𝐹� ) = 0 (ii) 𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐(𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔 𝜙𝜙) = 0 (iii) 𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐( 𝑟𝑟 𝑓𝑓(𝑟𝑟)) = 0

potential.

13. Find the angle between the surfaces 𝑥𝑥 2 + 𝑦𝑦 2 + 𝑧𝑧 2 = 9 and 𝑧𝑧 = 𝑥𝑥 2 + 𝑦𝑦 2 − 3 at (2,-1,2).

1. Evaluate ∫𝐶𝐶 𝐹𝐹. 𝑑𝑑𝑟𝑟 where 𝐹𝐹 = 𝑥𝑥 2 𝑖𝑖 + 𝑦𝑦 2 𝑗𝑗and C is the curve 𝑦𝑦 = 𝑥𝑥 2 in the 𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥 −plane from (0,0) to (1,1).
2. Prove that force field given by 𝐹𝐹 = 2𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑥𝑧𝑧 3 𝑖𝑖 + 𝑥𝑥 2 𝑧𝑧 3 𝑗𝑗 + 3𝑥𝑥 2 𝑦𝑦𝑦𝑦 2 𝑘𝑘 is conservative. Find the work done
by moving a particle from (1, −1,2) to (3,2, −1) in this force field.

10. Verify the divergence theorem for 𝐹𝐹 = 𝑥𝑥 3 𝑖𝑖−𝑦𝑦 3 𝑗𝑗 + 𝑧𝑧 3 𝑘𝑘 over the cube formed by the planes 𝑥𝑥 = 0,
𝑥𝑥 = 1, 𝑦𝑦 = 0, 𝑦𝑦 = 𝑎𝑎, 𝑧𝑧 = 0, 𝑧𝑧 = 𝑎𝑎.
