• Sharing scientific results: without exchange of information there


can be no science (Scientific report).
– Every discovery is based on previous discoveries
– Results and conclusions are starting points for other invesitgations
elsewhere (aggregate called scientific progress).
• New insights should be widely communicated and become available
to others.
• Communications à sharing orally or written with two or more
parties
FORMS OF SICENCE
COMMUNCIATION
• Communication plays a fundamental role in the science, but in
what form:
– Spoken word (by scientists everywhere all the time)
• Lack precision and depth of a scientific observation or deduction
• Limited impact on listeners
• Not adequate
– Written communication
• Technical data, pictorial explanations, tabular representation, proper language,
arguments
• easy propagation, distribution and storage
• Religion books as examples
DEVELOPMENT

• Tools:
– Pencils and pens
– Typewriters
– Manuscript paper ‫ﻣﺧطوطﺔ‬
– Formal documents produced professionally
– Electronic workstations (computers, scanners, printers)
• Basic arts, skills and practices has not been changed dramatically
• Written communication supports intense critical evaluation
• Editors play an important role in enforcement of standards governing
communications supported by reviewers
MAINTENANCE OF QUALITY
IN SCIENCE
• Publication in high quality journals implies that the reported findings
and observations are capable of surviving in everyway the test is
replicated by one’s peers.
• Only results that have been published are accorded place in science,
only the scientist with a personal record of publication is regarded as
have made meaningful contributions to the field.
• Only properly composed scientific report will be accepted for
publication.
