personality. It’s the mental picture you have of yourself when you look in the mirror
or think about your skills.
3. SELF-CONCEPT-It’s the way we perceive and understand ourselves. In simpler
terms, it’s the image we have of ourselves, shaped by our thoughts, experiences,
and how others see us.
4. SELF-ESTEEM-The level of appreciation, value, and likability you feel for
yourself. It’s influenced by your self-concept and how others perceive you. Positive
self-image typically leads to higher self-esteem and greater confidence.
F. FACTORS AFFECTING GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
1. Heredity- is defined as the transmission of traits from parents to offspring. The
traits are made up of specific information embedded within one's gene, the basic
unit of heredity.
2. Intelligence- Intelligence, specifically in emotion, mean honestly evaluating and
paying attention to how you feel. When you feel a certain emotion, you do your
best to understand an explain it. You are aware of how your actions and emotion
impact not only yourself, but, other people, as well.
3. Environment- A well-nurtured child, raised in a supportive environment with factors
like a good school and loving family, tends to develop strong social,
interpersonal, academic, and extracurricular skills. While children raised in
stressful environments, such as poverty or broken families, may face challenges in
their development.
4. Geographical influence- Living in an active community with parks, libraries, and
sports centers encourages social interaction and involvement. While children
without access to these opportunities may spend more time indoors, isolated, and
engaging in less social activities like video games.
5. Parent's socio-economic status- It can determine many things about the child's
early development like how he views the world, what, how much and how often he
eats in a day, the type of early childhood education he went to, his overall health, or
how others view him.
6. Accidents and incidents- Accidents or repeated trauma can affect a child's
physical development, leading to hypersensitivity to touch and sensorimotor
problems. Exposure to physical or sexual abuse may cause various physical health
issues, such as headaches and stomach aches. These traumatic experiences can
significantly impact overall growth and development.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Whiteboard markers
Pre-prepared questions
INSTRUCTIONS.
Group Setup: Divide the class into their respective groups of (5 students). Each group
will sit in their chair by row.
PROCESS:
The presenter will read out a multiple-choice question to one of their members.
The first student will then whisper their answer to the next student in line (this can
be done quietly enough that only the next student hears it).
This process continues until the last student in the group receives the answer.
The last student in the group (the one at the end) will then go to the board and
write down the answer they received from the whisper chain.
SWITCHING ROLES:
After the answer is written on the board, the group members will rotate their seats.
NEXT ROUND:
Once the groups have rotated, the presenter will read a new multiple-choice
question.
The process repeats: the first student will whisper to the second, and so on, until
the last student writes the answer on the board.
