Unit4. Lesson 2-Environment and Recycling
Unit4. Lesson 2-Environment and Recycling
Recycling has become an important part of efforts to protect our planet and create a greener world. As the world continues to face
environmental challenges like pollution, waste, and climate change, recycling is a simple but powerful solution. It helps reduce the
amount of waste that ends up in landfills and cuts down on the need for new materials, which can be harmful to the environment.
When we recycle, we give materials like paper, glass, plastic, and metal a second life. This means we don’t have to use as many natural
resources, such as trees or oil, to make new products. For example, recycling paper saves trees and reduces the energy needed to
make new paper from raw materials. Recycling glass and plastic helps reduce the amount of waste that pollutes our oceans, rivers, and
streets.
In addition to saving resources, recycling also helps reduce pollution. Manufacturing products from raw materials usually requires a lot
of energy, which often comes from burning fossil fuels. This process releases harmful gases into the atmosphere, contributing to
climate change. Recycling uses less energy, so it produces fewer harmful emissions.
However, many people still don’t recycle enough. One of the main reasons for this is that recycling can be confusing. Different materials
have to be sorted in different ways, and not all areas have good recycling systems in place. But the more we learn about the
importance of recycling, the more we can do to improve the situation. Schools, governments, and businesses all play important roles in
promoting recycling and making it easier for people to take part.
If we all make an effort to recycle more, we can create a cleaner, greener world for ourselves and future generations. It’s not a difficult
task, and even small changes in our daily habits can make a big difference. For example, remember to separate your trash at home,
recycle paper and plastic when you can, and choose products made from recycled materials. By working together, we can protect the
environment and ensure a sustainable future.
