Forest Fire: The top three states with the most fire incidents in
the 2023-24 season are Uttrakhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.

State of the World's Forests Report 2024:

 Released by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)


 Russia, Brazil, Canada, the USA, and China collectively
hold 54% of the world's total forest area.
 10 countries recorded annual gains in forest area in 2020,
which include China, Australia, India, Chile, Viet Nam,
Turkey, the United States of America, France, Italy, and
Romania.
 India ranked 3rd for average annual net gain in forest
area from 2010-2020.
