CO1: Analyze the general and special purpose diode circuits

Explain the concept of the DC load line in a diode circuit. How does it help in determining the
1. operating point of the diode? U

Draw the basic Voltage regulator circuit. What happens to the output when we keep on decreasing
2 the load resistance by keeping input voltage constant? AN

Explain the working principles of half wave rectifier with necessary circuit diagram and also draw
3 the input & output waveform. AN

List out the different circuits used for full wave rectification. Discuss the operation of each circuit
with necessary diagram and equation. If silicon diodes are used in full wave rectifier circuits, then
4 calculate the average DC output voltage for an input peak to peak AC voltage of 25 V. Also find U
out the peak inverse voltage for diode in each circuit.

5 Compare the various parameters of a half-wave rectifier and a full-wave rectifier.

Explain the operation of a DC voltage doubler circuit with necessary circuit diagram. Given an input
