1. PepsiCo India is making a significant investment of Rs.
1,266 crore to establish a cutting-edge
flavor manufacturing facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Scheduled to commence construction later this year, the plant is expected to become operational by the first quarter of 2026. Encompassing an expansive 22 acres, the facility will play a pivotal role in augmenting PepsiCo's beverage manufacturing capabilities within India. Jagrut Kotecha, Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo India & South Asia, emphasized the company's commitment to expanding its operations in India. George Kovoor, Senior Vice President of Beverages at PepsiCo India, reiterated the company's dedication to meeting the growing demand for beverages in the country. PepsiCo's first flavor manufacturing facility in India is located in Channo, Punjab. With the establishment of the Ujjain plant, the company aims to further solidify its presence in the Indian flavor market. Alongside the new facility in Madhya Pradesh, the company is also constructing another plant in Assam. The upcoming manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh will prioritize renewable energy sources to reduce its carbon footprint. Additionally, it will utilize Zero Liquid Discharge technology and strive to achieve approximately 90 percent overall water efficiency, aligning with PepsiCo's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. 2. ITC recently said it will invest around Rs. 1,500 crore to set up an integrated food manufacturing and logistics facility and a sustainable packaging products manufacturing facility at Sehore in Madhya Pradesh. The two projects spread over an area of nearly 57 acres will give a boost to agricultural and manufacturing sectors in Madhya Pradesh. While the food plant will manufacture ITC's products including atta brand Aashirvaad, Sunfeast biscuits, and 'YiPPee!' noodles, the moulded fibre products facility will be a pioneer in sustainable packaging, contributing to plastic substitution in areas such as packaging for electronic items, FMCG, and the food and beverage sector. This state-of-art facility will also be a landmark in sustainability with the unit being designed to IGBC green building Platinum standards. 3. Amul will set up a milk processing facility in Telangana with an investment of Rs. 500 crore. The plant, which will have an initial capacity of five lakh litres a day, would be located in a special food processing zone in the State. Besides producing packaged milk, the facility would manufacture value-added dairy products such as curd, buttermilk, lassi, yoghurt, paneer and sweets. 4.
