The document contains exercises for a Signals and Systems course at Tanta University, focusing on transfer functions, system analysis, and feedback control systems. It includes tasks such as finding transfer functions for given systems, analyzing a specific transfer function for zeros and poles, and explaining basic elements of feedback control. Additionally, it discusses the classification of traffic control systems and requires computation of linear convolution.

(2) Consider the following transfer function of a control system:

𝑠2 + 5 𝑠 + 6
𝑇. 𝐹 =
𝑠(𝑠 − 1)( 𝑠 2 + 2 𝑠 + 3)

Find the system zeros, poles, order, and characteristic equation.

(3) Explain the basic elements of the feedback control system.

(4) - Complete the following sentences:

a) For a control system, if the superposition principle is satisfied then the system is

referred to as ………………..

b) ………………. is a device that detects and responds to some type of input from the

physical environment like temperature, speed, pressure, light,…etc.

c) Actuator is defined as ………………

(5) According to the operation of the traffic control system, the system can be considered as

an open-loop control system or a closed-loop control system. Explain this point of view.

Report (6) Compute the linear convolution , 𝑦(𝑡) = 𝑥(𝑡) ∗ ℎ(𝑡) ,

Where: 𝑥 (𝑡 ) = 2 𝑢(𝑡 − 1) − 2 𝑢(𝑡 − 3) , ℎ(𝑡 ) = 𝑢(𝑡 + 1) − 2 𝑢(𝑡 − 1) + 𝑢(𝑡 − 3)
