4. KNOWLEDGE ABOUT AGENCY/COMMUNITY:(Brief description of structure and functioning of
agency and/or community)

Udayan care is an NGO for Child Rights. It aims to bring sunshine into the lives of
underserved sections of society that require intervention. Registered in 1994 in
Delhi as a Public Charitable Trust, Udayan Care works to empower vulnerable
children, women and youth, in 36 cities across 15 states of India.

5. NATURE OF ASSIGNMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS:

• Trainee was expected to gain insight of the agency he was placed in.
• Trainee was expected to assist children of Udayan Home 8 in their academics.
• Trainee was expected to conduct soft skill sessions with the children.

6. EVALUATION
a) Knowledge of agency, vision and mission about Client/Community:

Udayan is a Sanskrit word meaning 'Eternal Sunrise'. Udayan Care aims to bring
sunshine into the lives of underserved sections of society that require intervention.
Registered in 1994 as a Public Charitable Trust, Udayan Care works to empower
vulnerable children, women and youth, in 36 cities across 15 states of India.
Starting with the establishment of just one small family home (Ghar) for orphaned
and abandoned children in Sant Nagar, Delhi in 1996, Udayan Care has spread its
work for disadvantaged groups during the last 29 years by establishing more family
homes, helping girls' education, providing vocational training etc. To date, Udayan
Care has nurtured over 38,000 young minds. This has been made possible only
through the support of like-minded people, donors and partners who believed in
Udayan Care's work and mission.
VISION: MAKE YOUNG LIVES SHINE
MISSION: by engaging individuals, committed to human rights, under the framewok
of the SDGs, udayan care enables nurturing homes for vulnerable children,
empowers girls to aspire for and pursue higher education and gain employability,
offers communities digital and vocational training to become self-reliant. Through
research, training, conferences and advocacy, udayan care influences policies and
practices on the Standards of alternative care in South Asian region.

b) Work Done:

• Trainee got the insight of the Udayan Care and their programs i.e, Udayan
Ghar program
• Trainee got placed in Udayan Home 8 in Mayur Vihar along with other co-
trainee.
• Trainee assisted and helped the children in home with their academics.
• Trainee conducted an activity on “Coping strategy”
• Trainee got insight of the topic “Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of
Children) Act” as it was mentioned in the Project curation form.
• Trainee got insight of the topic “Protection of Children from Sexual Offence
(POCSO) Act” as it was mentioned in the Project curation form.
• Trainee got insight of the topic “Child Rights” as it was mentioned in the
Project curation form.
• Trainee conducted various sessions on social and mental awareness for boys.

Trainee developed discipline and punctuality towards his work in this semester, the
way of communicating with the corporate people really modified, trainee learned to
build emotional connection between the recruiters and the care leavers.

Trainee was punctual on his field work days, he carried out all the tasks he was
expected to do on time.
7. STUDENT’S PERFORMANCE IN GROUP CONFERENCES: (As a Presenter, Recorder, Chairperson
and as a Group Member)

8) ADJUSTMENT WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AGENCY(Relationship building , cooperation, acceptance


of agency’s policies)

The agency supervisor is extremely helpful and he explained everything about the
agency and its work very well, and the staff member and children are so humble and
welcoming that they would make anyone feels like family.

9) QUALITY OF RECORDING(Ability to write accurately and analytically)

Trainee always tried to documented the report and was always ready to do any
changes in particular time if required, at first trainee find difficulty in analysis in
reports but with time and support of college supervisor it became easier, trainee’s
reports have brief and important point of that particular day and topic, and the
reports always showed some improvement than the previous ones.

10) SUPERVISION (Ability to make use of supervisory guidance)


a) College level Supervision

The college supervisor (Mr. Kislay Kumar Singh ) is so supportive, polite and
understanding and always there to help with any type of problem anytime, and he
conducted weekly Individual Conferences (IC) to help trainee with any professional
advice he needed, he always asked if there is anything more is needed.
b) Agency level Supervision

The agency supervisor (Mrs. Naaz Parveen), he is very polite and understanding, he
always provide everything trainee needed, and he gave chance to interact with
children in home with utmost support.

11. CRITICAL EVALUATION OF AGENCY’S SERVICES/COMMUNITY AND LIMITATIONS


OF THE SETTING IN RESPECT OF FIELD WORK/FIELD WORK LEARNING

As the children residing in the Home cares get same and equal treatment in the
home but their issues, needs, challenges and character depends on the past
experiences and kind of background they have come from but they should get
different treatment in the context of their mental stability.
