(6am- 2pm), afternoon shift (2pm – 10pm) and night shift (10pm – 6am). Many non-operational workers

work a normal day shift (core hours 9am to 5pm). Operational staff will work weekends during period of
peak demand but this is overtime and not core hours.
The company is a light engineering manufacturer making a range of metal products such as
fixings and enclosures. These are sold through retail and wholesale outlets. Some products are
produced as bespoke projects for client and will be designed, manufactured and installed by the
company.
General description of the organisation
On-site activities include stock storage, stock movements, metal fabrication and assembly,
finished item packaging and dispatch. A wide range of light metalwork engineering machinery and
operations exist, such as metal cutting, grinding, welding and polishing.

Some on-site activities are contracted out but will still be discussed if relevant.
The main site in Luxembourg city will be included in the risk assessment. The site includes
warehousing operations, production and packing facilities spread across a range of buildings

assessment maintained as green space. A perimeter traffic route, staff car parks and large articulated lorry
manoeuvring yard ring the site.

were interviewed to gather their views and opinions. A project engineer with previous experience of traffic
management engineering works was consulted when planning further actions on several of the priority
issues.
