• are verbs, such as 'can', 'might' and 'must', that are


used with another verb to express an idea like ability,
possibility, probability, logical assumptions,
permissions, requests, offer, suggestions, advice,
criticism, obligation, prohibition or necessity which
are not expressed by the main verb of a sentence.
