Amazon Ungating Guides Final 2
Amazon Ungating Guides Final 2
Welcome to the official guide for Getting Ungated in Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, &
other Activewear on Amazon.
My name is Chris Grant and I am an admin of the FBA Today Skool Group. I also have
a blog focused on reselling at ClearTheShelf.com, and I have a Youtube Channel
focused on reselling.

about the art and science of online arbitrage.
This guide is written to help walk you through the process of getting ungated in many
Activewear brands including, but not limited to, Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Jordan,
etc.
You will also need to be willing to be patient with the process. The difficulty of getting
ungated ebbs and flows with Amazon. There have been times where pictures of your
dog would allow you to become ungated in a category or a brand and times when you
have to submit your documents 50+ times.
If you have what Amazon is asking for and you have properly annotated your
invoices/receipts don’t be afraid to continue submitting them to Amazon.
You may want to take the time to name your files before submitting. I like the file name:
Brand_ASIN_Invoice. It would look like this: Nike_B00HB45JN47Y_Invoice. Anecdotally
you may even want to submit the documents upside down if you’ve been rejected a few
times. I can’t say that is a definitive hack but don’t be afraid to switch things up.
● In your Seller Central Account hover over the “Catalog” menu option at the top
left of the page. You should see a drop-down menu. Click on “View Selling
Applications” in the drop-down.
● On the “Selling Applications” page you will see an option for “Declined” under
“Selling Application Status”. Click on “Declined” to open the applications that
need to be closed.
● Once on the “Declined” tab you will need to find the brand you plan to apply for.
Click the “Reapply” button to the right of the brand.
● This will take you to a “Selling Application for Brand” page. Once there you will
need to choose “At least 1 purchase invoice for products from a manufacturer or
distributor” just like you were going to submit new information.
● Click on “Select Files” to include a PDF note that will ask the seller support agent
to close the application.
● You can click here to download a free “Close This Application” Template. Please
be sure to follow the instructions, download your own copy, and edit the
document.
● Once you have uploaded the “Close This Application” PDF click on the yellow
“Submit” button near the bottom of the page.
● Await Amazon’s response. Once the application is closed you can reapply for
the brand, ASIN, category, sub-category, etc.
Instructions
Before you buy any inventory, be 100% certain that the items you purchase from any
sources below match the product detail pages on Amazon with 100% accuracy. This
means the same color, same size, same quantity, etc.
Know that you will need to purchase at least 10 items for the brand or brands you plan
to get ungated in.
Be sure that your address and contact information on your invoice(s) matches the
information that Amazon has on file for you. This MUST be accurate.
When submitting your invoice you will want to be sure to add the ASIN to your invoice.
You can do this by simply writing the ASIN next to the item on the invoice that it
matches or you can use an editing software like Photoshop or Pixlr to add text to the
image of your invoice. I would caution that you do not edit anything else besides adding
the ASIN of the matching Amazon Product on your invoice.
Amazon Requirements
Amazon has some strict requirements when asking to be ungated. Below we will review
them so that you are sure to have them in order when requesting to be ungated.
● At least 1 purchase invoice for products from a manufacturer or distributor
● The Document must meet the following requirements
○ Dated (within 180 days)
○ Include your name and address
○ Include the name and address of the manufacturer or distributor
○ Show the combined purchase of at least 10 units
○ Omit pricing information (optional)
● Please note that Amazon may verify your submitted documentation by contacting
product vendors you identify on your application.
A newer requirement if you use Amazon themselves to get ungated with is the need to
purchase 50 units of an item rather than 10 in some instances.
There have even been occasions where they ask for 100 units. It’s important to read
through the ungating requirements each time you go to get ungated before making any
purchases to ensure you know what is needed from you.
Again, be sure that your information matches your Amazon account with 100%
accuracy.
Once you create an account and are approved you will be able to purchase items from
BSN Sports and when you receive the invoice you will be able to use it to request
ungating.
Below will be example products you can use to get ungated with links to BSN sports as
well as Amazon. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST you take a few minutes and find your own
products. If hundreds of people send invoices for the exact same product Amazon may
decide they no longer want to allow the source to be accepted for ungating.
Kohl’s
Kohl’s (www.kohls.com) is another source you can use. You will be able to use the
packing slip once you receive your items to get ungated with.
Again, be sure that your information matches your Amazon account with 100%
accuracy.
Amazon does not sell Nike products but you will be able to use them to ungate other sporting
goods brands.
While I don’t recommend this, there are sellers who have used an Amazon invoice on items
they have purchased from third party Amazon sellers to become ungated. If you try this it may
work but here is your fair warning that it’s not bullet proof.
Soccer.com
Soccer.com is yet another source you can use. Make sure to include your order confirmation,
invoice, order delivery, and any packing slips.
Nike
Nike.com also works for ungating to this day. Make sure to include your order confirmation,
invoice, order delivery, and any packing slips.
ASOS
Asos.com also works for ungating. Make sure to include your order confirmation, invoice, order
delivery, and any packing slips.
Examples
Below I will offer an example from BSN that could be used for ungating purposes.
I will preface these examples by reiterating what I have said above. You should spend a
few minutes to find your own products rather than solely relying on the example below.
If hundreds of people use the exact same product Amazon may decide they no longer
want to accept the source for ungating.
The sources above have thousands of products to choose from. Find items that are
fairly inexpensive to get ungated with. Do not expect to make a profit from the items (if
you can, that's a bonus) but think of it as an investment into your business for future
profits from a brand.

Final Reminder: Be sure to find your own products on these sites rather than only
using the example given.
Good luck! Please remember to keep trying if you are not approved on the first round.
It can sometimes take a few submissions for Amazon to relent.
As always…
Good Selling!

The Definitive Amazon Grocery
Ungating Guide
Welcome to the Official Guide for Getting Ungated in Grocery on Amazon.
My name is Chris Grant and I am an admin of FBA Today. I also have a blog focused on
reselling at ClearTheShelf.com, and I have a Youtube Channel focused on reselling as
well.
You may also be interested in checking out The OA Challenge. A 14-Day intensive all
about the art and science of online arbitrage.
Instructions
Below we will walk through the exact steps you will need to take to get ungated for
groceries on Amazon. This will include a site that is currently working to present a
wholesale invoice to Amazon and an ASIN example and matching product on their site
you can order.
My suggestion would be that you find your own product on their site so that you and
hundreds or even thousands of other sellers are not submitting identical invoices.
1. Make sure you don’t have any open requests for approval in the grocery
category.
2. Create an account with wholesale.frontiercoop.com. It’s simple and they don’t
require a ton of information to get an account started.
3. Alternative company for grocery ungating: Pricemaster, Amazon Business
Once you have created an account you will need to find some products that match from
the wholesaler to an existing Amazon grocery listing.
A reminder here is that you will need to purchase enough to match the listing. 10 units
of 2 for a total of 20 units rather than 10.
The goal is only to find products that will help you become ungated. Not necessarily
make you a profit. Although, if you can do both then it’s a win-win.
I’ll reiterate. You should take a few minutes to find a product on the site that is not the
example I have shown.
The Frontier Co-op Wholesale site is an excellent resource to get ungated in this
category.
You may also use an Amazon business account to get ungated with. Remember using
Amazon may sometimes mean you have to buy 50 units in total.
Always check the requirements before making a purchase.
The last thing you need to know is that you should not try and return products you use
to get ungated.
Some sources will charge you a restocking fee and others may ban you. It’s not worth it
to return items even if you’re out a little money.
The next step will be to submit the invoice(s) you received either via email or in the shipment
you receive to Amazon.
Select the option “At least 1 purchase invoice for products from a manufacturer or distributor”.
Make sure that your invoice meets all the criteria below it.
● Dated on or After “Month Day, Year (within 180 Days)
● Include Your Name and Address (these should match your seller account)
● Include the name and address of the manufacturer or distributor
● Show the combined purchase of at least 10 units
● Omit pricing information (optional)
● Please note that we may verify your submitted documentation by contacting product
vendors you identify in your application
That last one is important. If Amazon does check on this you’ll want to be sure they are able to
verify that you made a purchase and the company is legit.
This is why it’s important to verify any sources you purchase from.
After this you will upload your invoice(s), provide your contact information (the email address
you have on file in Seller Central & Your Phone Number), and hit submit.
Patience
Amazon is notorious for declining your first attempts at ungating. Whether it is because they
don’t see something on your invoice or maybe a support agent is overloaded with work and it’s
easier to decline than look through your invoice.
If you have all your i’s dotted and your T’s crossed you will just need to submit again.
The time for an approval can vary. At the time of writing this we are in the midst of a global
pandemic and the timeframe for approvals seems to have been extended.
That’s it.

way I can.
Amazon OTC Ungating Guide
Welcome to the official guide for Getting Ungated in OTC (Over the
Counter Medicine) on Amazo.
Instructions
First you will make sure you have closed any open applications you may
have for the brand or the category you are trying to get ungated in.
You will also need to ensure you have chosen an ASIN that you can use to
get ungated with in the OTC category.
Now you will need to have all the items Amazon requires of you.
This will include at least 1 purchase invoice for products from a distributor
or manufacturer.
*date has been removed as it will differ depending on when you apply. The
invoice will need to be within the last 180 days.
Please make sure the address on your invoice matches the address on
your seller account. This is incredibly important. If you’re using a prep
center to receive the items be sure to discuss with the distributor that you
may need a different billing address than the shipping address.
You must also order 10 units minimum of the brand that you want to get
ungated. They do not all need to be the same ASIN.
Remember, the items you order may not be profitable but you are looking
to get ungated, not necessarily sell these items at a profit.
In the OTC category you will be required to offer an FDA registration, Good
Manufacturing Practice Certificate, certificate of analysis, or a 510(K)
Premarket Notification.
This will not work for supplements as they are, typically, not regulated by
the FDA.
Here you will need to look for the active ingredient in the product you will be
using to get ungated with.
If this is Tylenol then you will want to look for acetaminophen and if you
use something like Bendryl you will want to look for diphenhydramine.
You can find the active ingredient on the side of OTC medicine packaging
but if you are unable to see that on Amazon or on the distributors website
you may need to look at the brands website to find this information.
Here is a screenshot of what you should see before you do the search for
the active ingredient. Make sure to use the “Search by Proprietary Name,
Active Ingredient or Application Number” option. It will be the easiest.
You will see multiple listings for whatever active ingredient you search for.
That’s OK.
Use one where the Applicant Holder is the same as the brand you are
using to apply to the OTC category with.
If you aren’t able to find the exact brand people have also had luck using
the same dosage or type (like syrup or elixir for liquid types of medicine).
The example above would work perfectly for the Benadryl example in the
ASINs above.
You will then need to take a screenshot of the page so that you can offer
that to Amazon. I would suggest making sure the screenshot has the FDA
logo in the top left corner and you go ahead and get the URL bar in the
screenshot as well.
Now, take your invoice and your FDA screenshot and submit it to Amazon.
At the time of this writing we are experiencing a global pandemic and things
may be moving a bit slower than normal as well. Be aware of that and
don’t get frustrated if you aren’t approved straight away

Amazon Topical Ungating Guide
Welcome to the official guide for Getting Ungated in Topicals on Amazon.
Instructions
First you may want to make sure you have closed any open applications
you may have for the brand or the category you are trying to get ungated
in.
While some sellers have had luck getting ungated with the invoice from an
Amazon business account when they have purchased from a third party
seller I would not recommend it.
https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Bronners-Pure-Castile-Liquid-Shower/dp/B000
0533G8
I would not suggest that everyone uses this exact match. There are plenty
of lotions, scrubs, lip balms and other topicals where you will be able to find
matches.
You want to be sure that your annotations are clearly that and can not be
misconstrued for altering an invoice.
Make sure you have purchased at least 10 units of the same brand.
Remember it’s about getting ungated, not making a profit.
You will need to write or type the ASIN next to the item on the invoice.
Make it clear (highlighting and using arrows) so that it is impossible for the
support agent to make a mistake.
Amazon will require you to submit at least one (1) purchase invoice from a
manufacturer or distributor. It will need to be dated within the last 180
days. Include your name and address (these will need to match what you
have on file with Amazon). Include the name and address of the
manufacturer or distributor. Show the combined purchase of at least 10
units. Omit pricing information (optional).
Amazon may, at their discretion, verify your submitted invoices and they
may contact the wholesaler or distributor.
IMPORTANT
When submitting your invoices for a topical item they will require that you
take photos of the item and submit them along with the invoice(s).
Be sure that the photos are crystal clear. Make sure you take photos of all
sides of the product. You must also make sure that the name of the
manufacturer as well as the ingredients can be easily seen in the photos.
Most any camera on a smartphone should be able to handle this if you
have good lighting.
If you are not approved the first time but you have dotted your i’s and
crossed your T’s be patient, submit your information, and keep a cool head.
