interesting stories and the rich culture on our Manila Loop Tour. Let’s get started and enjoy our
trip!

1. Roxas Boulevard - Roxas Boulevard is a scenic avenue running along the Manila Bay
coastline, it is named after former President Manuel Roxas. It features beautiful
landscaping, parks, and landmarks such as the Manila Yacht Club and the Manila Hotel.

* Roxas Boulevard is a popular waterfront promenade in Manila in the Philippines. The boulevard, which runs along the shores of Manila Bay,
is well-known for its sunsets and stretch of coconut trees. The divided roadway has become a trademark of Philippine tourism, famed for its
yacht club, hotels, restaurants, commercial buildings and parks. Originally called Cavite Boulevard, it was renamed Dewey Boulevard in honor
of the American Admiral George Dewey, who under his command defeated the Spanish navy in the Battle of Manila Bay in 1898. The boulevard
was again renamed to Heiwa Boulevard in late 1941 during Japanese Home Rule and Roxas Boulevard in the 1960s to honor President Manuel
Roxas, the fifth president of the Republic of Philippines. The arcing road runs in a north-south direction from Rizal Park in Manila and ends in
Parañaque at the intersection of Ninoy Aquino International Airport Road. However, the most popular points along the Boulevar d can be found
along a 3-kilometer stretch, whose endpoints are bounded by Rizal Park and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. In between those two points
can be found the Manila Yacht Club, Manila Ocean Park and the US Embassy.

2. The Manila Hotel - The Manila Hotel is a 5-star hotel that has been a prominent landmark
in Manila since 1912. It has hosted many famous guests over the years, including world
leaders and Hollywood celebrities. The hotel is known for its elegant architecture, fine
dining, and impeccable service
* The Manila Hotel is one of the most important landmarks in Manila. Known as the oldest premier hotel in the Philippines, it presents a great
story and history. It is the perfect representation of the city, versatility and hospitality. Built in 1901 and opened on June 4, 1912, The Manila
Hotel is the oldest premier hotel in the Philippines. Most known for hosting General Douglas MacArthur during his tenure as the Military Advisor
of the Philippine Commonwealth from 1935 to 1941.

3. Rizal Park - Rizal Park also known as Luneta Park is a urban park located in the heart
of Manila. It is named after the national hero Dr. José Rizal, who was executed by the
Spanish colonial authorities at this site in 1896. The park features monuments, gardens,
and recreational facilities, making it a popular destination for both locals and visitors.
* The park, which is situated on the eastern shore of Manila Bay, has played an important part in defining the culture of the Philippines. On
December 30, 1896, the execution of Filipino nationalist José Rizal fueled the fire of the 1896 Philippine Revolution against the Kingdom of
Spain. So, Why is Rizal Park called Luneta? It is also known as Luneta Park because the field resembles a crescent (Lunette). Commute You
can ride a jeepney, bus, or train if you’re going to take public transportation. For private vehicles, Rizal Park is accessible via Roxas
Boulevard and Taft Avenue.

4. Museo Pambata - The Museo Pambata, or Children's Museum, is an interactive


museum dedicated to educating and entertaining children. It features a variety of hands-
on exhibits and activities covering topics such as science, art, culture, and the
environment. It is in a sense an alternative to the formal classroom environment where
learning resembles a one-way street – the teacher imparts knowledge and the students
absorb it. Open Friday to Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM. Opened in 1994, Nina Lim-Yuson
envisioned Museo Pambata.

5. U.S. Embassy - The U.S. Embassy in Manila is the diplomatic mission of the United
States government in the Philippines. It serves as the central hub for U.S. government
activities and services in the Philippines. Passport services and serves to address and
protect the citizens of the United States that are staying here in the Philippines.

6. Dolomite Beach - The Dolomite Beach in Manila Bay is a man-made beach that was
created in 2021 as part of the city's efforts to rehabilitate the bay. While the project has
been controversial, the beach has become a popular recreational area for both locals
and tourists, offering stunning views of the Manila skyline and the bay. Opens daily
except on Thursdays.
* Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach, commonly known as Dolomite Beach, is an artificial beach along Manila Bay in Manila, Philippines created
through the process of beach nourishment. It is part of an overall integrated coastal zone management aimed at coastal defense of the Manila
Bay Rehabilitation project. When completed, the beach will cover a total length of 900 meters of Manila Baywalk.

7. Philippine Navy - The Philippine Navy is the warfare service branch of the Armed Forces
of the Philippines. Its headquarters is located along Roxas Boulevard, overlooking Manila
Bay. Country's maritime defense and security operations.
* The Philippine Navy (PN), or "Hukbong Dagat ng Pilipinas," is the naval branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. It originated from the
Philippine Revolutionary Navy founded on May 20, 1898, with its modern structure established when the Offshore Patrol was created on February
9, 1939. The PN conducts naval warfare operations and maritime patrols to protect the country’s maritime interests, particularly in the South
China Sea and Benham Rise.

8. Manila Yacht Club


The Manila Yacht Club is a prestigious social and recreational club found along Roxas
Boulevard. Established in 1927, it is the oldest yacht club in the Philippines. The club's facilities
include a marina, yacht berths, and various amenities for members and their guests. each yacht
member cost 1.5 million with monthly dues to own one and you could rent it per hour.
* Manila Yacht Club is the only member-owned yacht club in Manila Philippines and the oldest yacht club in all of Asia. The Manila Yacht Club
was established in 1927, but its history dates back to an affluent time when our first members were the officers and men of James C. Rockwell,
Joseph A. Thomas, Aubrey P. Ames, Stewart A. Taite and A.S. Heyward.

9. Cultural Center of the Philippines


Cultural Center of the Philippines, or CCP for short. Established in 1969, the CCP is the premier
performing arts venue in the country. Designed by renowned architect Leandro Locsin, the
center's iconic brutalist architecture is a striking landmark along Manila Bay. The CCP hosts a
wide range of cultural events, from theater productions and concerts to art exhibits and festivals.

and culture. The center’s impact extends globally, with international recognition and collaborations that elevate Filipino talent on the global stage.

10. Folk Arts Theater


Folk Arts Theater, a performing arts venue located within the CCP complex. Completed in 1974,
the theater was designed to showcase traditional Filipino folk arts and culture. It features an
impressive pagoda-style roof and can accommodate over 8,000 spectators. The Folk Arts
Theater has hosted numerous cultural performances, festivals, and national events over the
years. referred to as the Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas just in time for the first Miss Universe
pageant in Asia.
* Folk Arts Theater is also known as The Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas. It is one of the performance venues of the Cultural Center of the
Philipines. This covered proscenium amphitheater is where entertainment such as popular concerts, musicals, and plays are usually staged. It
has 8,458 seating capacity in ten sections. The theater takes its name from Francisco Baltazar also known as Francisco Balagtas, in awe to
the country's greatest poet. The theater was built in 90 days and was designed by Leandro V. Locsin in 1974.The building was officially
authorized by First Lady Imelda Marcos for the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in 1974, which was to be held in Manila in the same year.

11. PICC
The Philippine International Convention Center, or PICC, is a world-class convention facility
located in Pasay. Opened in 1976, the PICC was built to host major international events and
conferences. The center features several multi-purpose halls, meeting rooms, and exhibition
spaces.
* The Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), designed by renowned Filipino National Artist Leandro V. Locsin, opened on September
5, 1976. This brutalist architectural landmark showcases works by Filipino artists and has hosted numerous prestigious events, including the
Miss Universe Pageant, APEC Summits, and performances by stars like Luciano Pavarotti and Lea Salonga. Today, the PICC remains a
preferred venue for a variety of events, from political summits to concerts and personal celebrations.

12. Coconut Palace


The Coconut Palace is a government building constructed entirely from coconut materials.
Commissioned by former First Lady Imelda Marcos, the palace was designed to showcase the
Philippines' rich natural resources and craftsmanship. Today, the Coconut Palace serves as a
museum and event venue, offering visitors a glimpse into the country's cultural heritage.

13. Former Site of Sofitel Philippine Plaza


Sofitel Philippine Plaza is a luxury hotel that opened in 1976. The hotel was a landmark along
Manila Bay, known for its distinctive Y-shaped architecture and world-class amenities. Although
the Sofitel has since been demolished, the site stays an important part of Pasay's history and
development. Steve Peña, president of Philippine Plaza Holdings, cited "safety issues," including
over 20 alleged fire incidents, as a reason for the shutdown.
* Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila is a thoughtfully elegant and thoroughly modern resort on the majestic Manila Bay. It was established in 1976
as the first hotel in the Philippines of international caliber and was designed by Philippine National Artist Leandro Locsin. In 2007, global hotel
operator Accor acquired the property and turned it into the luxurious bayside retreat it is today. With gorgeous landscapes, lavish contemporary
interiors and indulgent spa, it’s no wonder it’s often the hotel of choice of visiting VIPs, from former U.S. President Barack Obama to the Queen
of Pop Madonna.

14. Film Center of the Philippines


The Film Center of the Philippines is a government institution dedicated to the advancement of
the country's film industry. Established in 1981, the center oversees the production, distribution,
and preservation of Philippine cinema. It also operates a film museum and hosts various film
festivals and events throughout the year. An accident occurred on November 17, 1981, when
scaffolding collapsed and sent construction workers into quick-drying cement. Despite this,
construction proceeded and finished some 15 minutes before opening night of the Film Festival
* The Manila Film Center is a building located at the southwest end of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Pasay, Philippines.
The structure was designed by architect Froilan Hong where its edifice is supported on more than nine hundred piles[1] which reaches to the
bed-rock about 120 feet below.
