HOW TO MAKE MONTHWISE PRESCHOOL

ACTIVITIES AND CELEBRATIONS


OCTOBER MONTH
1. FLOWERS WEEK (FIRST WEEK):
How to do the activity:
A big chart is made by the teachers and posted on the wall of the school
premises.

Kids are asked to bring any of the flowers along with them.

Teachers explain about each flower with the help of chart or flash cards.

The petals of any flowers will be shown to the kids for naming them. They tell
the name of the flowers. This is to be performed like a game by the teachers.

Each flower can be taught on each day of the complete week. Teachers may work on that and can be
taught about flower in many different ways like puzzles, circling, match the following etc.

Guidelines:
Kids have to focus on what teacher says.

Teacher have to take care of each kid while doing the activity.

What do we need:
Flowers, chart, flash cards.

Time management:
45 minutes

Who will conduct:


One teacher is enough to conduct the activity.

What is the role:


Children will bring the different types of flowers along with them.

Teacher will give the complete explanation regarding each flower in such a way where students can
understand very well.

Do’s:
Do the activity in the school premises in a complete discipline manner.

Let the children learn slowly but should pay full attention.

Do make sure that every child is paying complete attention.

Teacher need to stay with children while doing the activity.

Don’t’s:
Do not let any child go out while the activity is going on.

Do not continue the activity more than 45 minutes as kids may get distracted.

Note: In this thing children not only identify the flower but also the smell and
the color of the flower.

2. STORY TELLING- AVV ROOM ZONE (SECOND WEEK)


How to do the activity:
Any of the simple and small stories can be told to the children with the help of audio video visuals (AVV)
or through puppets (AVV Room Zone) or by using television or computer. That depends on that time and
situation itself.

The stories can be as follows

1. The lion and the rat.


2. Thirsty crow.
3. The clever fox.
4. The snake and the cow.
5. The talkative tortoise.
6. The fox and the crabs.
7. The here and the tortoise.

Guidelines:
Do not let any child touch the screen or projector while the teacher is explaining.

Everything should be done in AVV Room zone.

What do we need:
Puppets, television, computer etc.

Time management:
1 hour
Who will conduct:
One teacher is enough to conduct the activity.

What is the role:


Teacher will explain the stories to the children by utilizing AVV Room Zone.

Students will enjoy listening.

Do’s:
Do the activity in the school premises in a complete discipline manner.

Let the children learn slowly but should pay full attention.

Do make sure that every child is paying complete attention.

Teacher need to stay with children while doing the activity.

Don’t’s:
Do not let any child go out while the activity is going on.

Do not let any child touch the screen or projector while the teacher is explaining.

Note: By these activities, children will get interest to learn and they will also get interest to come to
school regularly to learn new things.

3. COLOR DAY (THIRD WEEK) (orange)

How to do the activity:

A big chart is drawn by the teachers which includes all yellow color flowers, fruits, things etc.
orange color balloons are blown up and tied at the school premises.

Kids are asked to wear only orange color dress and to bring orange color food, flowers, fruits etc.

All the orange things are gathered at one place and the teacher explains the
kids about orange color.

Guidelines:
Kids have to focus on what teacher says.

Teacher have to take care of each kid while doing the activity.
What do we need:
Balloons, chart, fruits, flowers, fruits, dress (all these should be in orange color).

Time management:
45 minutes

Who will conduct:


One teacher is enough to conduct the activity.

What is the role:


Children will bring all yellow color items.

Teacher will explain about orange color by using the chart and the things by which children will bring.

Do’s:
Do the activity in the school premises in a complete discipline manner.

Let the children learn slowly but should pay full attention.

Do make sure that every child is paying complete attention.

Teacher need to stay with children while doing the activity.

Don’t’s:
Do not let any child go out while the activity is going on.

Do not continue the activity more than 45 minutes as kids may get distracted.

Note: By these activities, children will get interest to learn and they will also get interest to come to
school regularly to learn new things.

4. ART AND CRAFT (FOURTH WEEK):


How to the activity:
Any of the craft idea can be taken and done on this day.

For example: Pasting match sticks on a drawn paper like house, hut, cradle,
sofa etc.

Guidelines:
Kids have to focus on what teacher says.
Teacher have to take care of each kid while doing the activity.

What do we need:
Craft sheets, sketches, crayons, pencils, scales, eraser and related craft.

Time management:
1 hour

Who will conduct:


One teacher is enough to conduct the activity.

What is the role:


Teacher will instruct the students what to draw and how to draw.

Students will follow the instructions of the teacher and will show their creativity by the drawing.

Do’s:
Do the activity in the school premises in a complete discipline manner.

Let the children learn slowly but should pay full attention.

Do make sure that every child is paying complete attention.

Teacher need to stay with children while doing the activity.

Don’t’s:
Do not let any child go out while the activity is going on.

Do not continue the activity more than 1 hour as the kids may get distracted.

Note: This helps the children to improve their creativity.

5. SHAPES (PLAYING METHOD) (FIFTH WEEK):


How to do the activity:
A big chart is drawn by the teachers which includes all the shapes like circle,
square, rectangle, triangle, cone etc. Teachers explains the kids about all the
shapes with the help of charts or flash cards or Montessori products.

This activity will be done throughout the week.

Guidelines:
Kids have to focus on what teacher says.
Teacher have to take care of each kid while doing the activity.

What do we need:
Charts, flash cards or Montessori products.

Time management:
45 minutes

Who will conduct:


One teacher is enough to conduct the activity.

What is the role:


Teacher will explain about the shapes by using the chart, flash cards or Montessori
products.

Children will identify the shapes.

Do’s:
Do the activity in the school premises in a complete discipline manner.

Let the children learn slowly but should pay full attention.

Do make sure that every child is paying complete attention.

Teacher need to stay with children while doing the activity.

Don’t’s:
Do not let any child go out while the activity is going on.

Do not continue the activity more than 45 minutes as kids may get distracted.

6. DIWALI FESTIVAL CELEBRATIONS (LAST WEEK):


How to do the activity:
Kids are asked to bring the crackers along with them.
Pooja will be done at school. Diyas are lightened everywhere. School is decorated with the flowers.

Music is played loudly and the kids enjoy dancing and playing together.

Crackers are fired by the children with the help of teachers.

Sweets are distributed.

A return gift wish will be made by the teachers and it is given to the children at
last while going to the home.

Guidelines:
Kids have to focus on what teacher says.

Teacher have to take care of each child during the celebrations.

What do we need:
Decoration items for school decoration and items of pooja.

Time management:
1 hour

Who will conduct:


2 teachers will conduct the activity.

What is the role:


Teachers will explain about the festival and do pooja.

Kids wear the traditional dress and enjoy the celebrations.

Do’s:
Do the celebrations in the school premises in a complete discipline
manner.

Teacher need to stay with children while celebrations are going on.

Don’t’s:
Do not let any child go out while the celebrations are going on.

Don’t let any child fight with each other.

Note: children will come to know the importance of festivals.
