In the first stitch, place 1YUSC. Place 1YUSC in the next 7 stitches, this is the right side of the chick. Skip the
next 13 stitches and continue to place 1YUSC in the last 7 stitches of the round (or if it’s easier, turn the chick

The Beak
With the right side of the chicken facing you, from the stitch marker at the top, drop
down 1 row to the stitch below in the 2nd row and join the yellow yarn. In the same
stitch, CH2, (place 1HDC, Ch1, slip stitch into the front two stitches of the HDC
(creating a picot), 1HDC, 1ss). Fasten off. (You do not have to trim the tails, bring them
to the inside, tie tightly and leave inside for additional filler.)

The Eyes
For The Glam Chicks, we highly recommend the very glamorous small sunglasses that would go
over the beak. Flat back sunglasses need to be glued on and there are some that have a button
shank. It is, also, recommend to glue in place.
For safety eyes- From the stitch marker, skip 1st YUSC on either side and place a
safety eye in the between the skipped stitch and the 2nd stitch in between the 2nd row and
the 3rd row from the top.

though the inside of the chicken and bring it through the opening and set aside.

Pompom
Leaving a 4” tail, wrap the yarn around the widest part of your hand, 20 to 40 times. Carefully, slide
off the wrapped yarn from your hand (See, Picture A) and tie tightly around the yarn, creating a bundle (See,
Picture B). Attach to the top of the head (See, Picture C). Cut the loops and trim it to desired length (See, Picture
D). If desired, use a pointed blunt edge (like a darning needle) and comb out the yarn strings.
