A2 media coursework:

Shot list:
Shot no. 1: Handheld shot in front of person. Shows view of street while walking forward. Then person walks up stairs and camera follows. (8 seconds long). Shot no. 2: Fades in to pan shot of house insides. Much of the room is a mess. (4 seconds long). Shot no. 3: Still close-up shot of table with beer bottle/glass on it. Beer liquid is dropping off table and/or is spilt. (3 seconds). Shot no. 4: Mid shot of man with hands over his face. He looks depressed. (2 seconds). Shot no. 5: Close-up shot of messy t-shirt for emphasis of the mans condition. (2 seconds). Shot no. 6: wide shot of room in different angle. Shows the TV playing in the background. This emphasises lack of focus of man. (4 seconds.) Shot no. 7: Fades out and in to mid shot/close up of the man, he raises his head to meet the camera. Lyrics start playing. 1st and 2nd verses play. (1 minute long.) Shot no. 8: Song plays during ahhhoooo chorus. Shot of man from a sideway view. (5 seconds.) Shot no. 9: Shot of mans hand, looking at an image of his girlfriend. (2 seconds.) Shot no. 10: Close-up of image. Image tilts to reflect light. Visual effects occur. (3 seconds.) Shot no. 11: 3rd verse plays. Camera goes back to man. Man appears slightly more happy. (30 seconds.) Shot no. 12: 4th verse plays. Close-up zooms in slowly to make an extreme close-up. As 4th verse ends, the man starts to smile and then close his eyes. (30 seconds.) Shot no. 13: Camera fades out to collage, much like in Nothing compares 2 U. Images are relevant to narrative. A shot of the girl walking occurs. (4 seconds.) Shot no. 14: 2nd image of collage. Image of the sun during sunset is recorded to signify the end. (2 seconds.) Shot no. 15: The TV switches off, shows man on focus again. Returns to his life. (3 seconds.) Shot no. 16: The bin gets a close-up. Shows beer bottle being disposed. (4 seconds long.) Shot no. 17: Song ends as image of man and GF walk off together. Shows good times (5 seconds.)

I hold the camera in front of me (handheld shot) as I walk down the street. Then I walk up to my house. The camera then fades away to open up again in shot 2

Shot no. 2 idea:


I hold the camera in front of me while a pan shot takes place of the living room, full of messy clothing and other stuff to emphasise his depression and rage. The table will also have a beer bottle with spilt beer. Table. The room being filmed in a pan shot, it will look like its been trashed up.

Shot no. 3 idea:


I hold the camera at the table in a close-up shot. There will be a beer bottle with beer spilt all around it to show how the man has been drinking to mask his depression. Table.

Shot no. 4 idea:


I place the camera on a chair or other surface in front of my face or close to it. My hands will be covering my face to make it seem like I (artist) am really depressed and angry. This represents the narrative more.

Shot no. 5 idea:


A close-up of my messy shirt that I wear to show how I (artist) am unable to tolerate my life and depression. Adds to the narrative content.

I hold the camera from a different angle at the room. The TV is shown to still be playing, showing a lack of focus displayed by the depressed character.

Shot no. 7 idea:


The camera rests on a chair or other surface as it films the main close-up shot of me. This shot remains for a whole minute and 2 verses as the music begins to play.

The camera rests on a chair or other surface as it films the sideway shot of me during the ahhhoooo chorus.

Shot no. 9 idea:


I hold the camera and face it down to a shot of my other hand, within it being an image of the girlfriend the artist is being depressed over losing in the song. This song provides understanding of the narrative.

Shot no. 10 idea:


The image is tilted in a similar looking shot to reflect the light above. It makes the girl in the image appear to be heavenly. This shot uses illustration for effect.

Shot no. 11 idea:


The camera rests on a chair or other surface as it films the 3rd verse. I appear slightly happier in this shot than in the previous close-up of me.

Room. Camera will rest on surface as it films me.

Shot no. 12 idea:


The camera rests on a chair or other surface as it films the 4th verse. The camera may slowly zoom in if possible for effect. Either way, my emotions will increase in positivity and I will grow happier.

Shot no. 13 idea:


This shot will take place at the start of the end image collage after the 4th verse plays. I will film the female artist from a distance as she walks away, down the road.

Shot no. 14 idea:


This shot will be a close-up of the sun during sunset to signify the end of the song, as well as a well developed and healthy relationship, and the depression that follows it. Another use of illustration.

Shot no. 15 idea:


I hold the camera at the TV in a close up shot. The TV is switched off so therefore it signifies the artists focus in life and causality being regained. This shows his end to the depression. He has achieved his emotional redemption. TV being turned off. The room being filmed. The TV can be viewed from here.

Shot no. 16 idea:


I hold the camera at the bin and dispose of the beer bottle that was spilt in an earlier shot. This further emphasises his redemption and his ability to overcome his emotional problems in the song.

Shot no. 17 idea:


This shot will be the final shot to close the video, plays as the music stops. Quiet scene as we walk away from the camera. This will be a flashback scene, showing how the artist remembers the good times in his mind.
