Definitions.
Perioperative
nursing is a term used to

describe the nursing functions in the total
surgical experience of the patient, pre
operative, intra operative, and post operative
(Lipincott Manual of Nursing Practice
edition)

operative vomiting, or regurgitation,
which increases the risk of aspiration.
