On December 9, 1893, a French anarchist named Auguste
Vaillant made a sensational attempt to avenge the
execution of Ravachol, a fellow anarchist. His attempt
injured several people and he was arrested and sentenced
to death. Vaillant defended his actions during the trial,
maintaining that he merely wanted to wake up the
privileged classes. How did Vaillants actions and his words
come back into the lime light some 36 years later ?

hospitalin Bombay (now Mumbai) to visit his new born
