1)I/O Control
choose IMEX as the
simulator
single porosity
default data which is
Year: 2000, Month: 1
and Day: 1
2) Reservoir
Cartesian grid type was
chosen and Down for
the K-direction
I direction is 10 grid
blocks, J direction is 10
grid blocks and K
direction is 3 grid
blocks.
For the block widths, I
direction and J direction
are both 10*1000
Rock compressibility
according to the project is
(3*10 ^ -6) /psi and the
reference pressure is 4800
psi.
3) Component ( PVT)
TR=157 F
oil density = 49.1 lb/ft3
gas density = 0.65
water density = 62.4772
lb/ft3
The undersaturated Co (CO)
is (2*10 ^ -5)/ psi
The formation volume factor
for water =1.00575,
compressibility =3.13*10 ^
-6/ psi
and the viscosity is 0.31 cp
4) Rock-Fluid
5) Initial Condition
The initial condition of
the well is as below:
The Water-Oil
Contact (DWOC) =
8500 ft
Reference pressure
(REFPRES) = 4800
psia
Reference Depth
(REFDEPTH) = 8400
ft
6) Numerical
Day 1
The oil saturation of the well is fully saturated
with oil which is 0.8.
This is because the well has not been
injected with water.
Day 154
the water has been injected, the
saturation of oil decreases at the Injector
part.
green colour which represents water has
displaced the oil by pushing the oil to the
Producer perforation.
Day 367
water has fully displaced oil at most of
the grids.
most of the oil has been produced
through the Producer perforation.
Thus, there are possibilities for water
production.
8) Result
red line is water
relative
permeability (krw)
blue line is oil
relative
permeability
(kro).
The intersection
between kro and
krw is less than
50% so it is
consider oil-wet.
Relative Permeability VS Water Saturation
Rs, Bo vs P
Rs increases until it
reached a point
where Rs and Bo
intersects which is
the bubble point
pressure at 4243
psi.
Bo increases
because more gas
flow into solution as
the pressure
increases resulting
in the swelling of oil.
Declining of GOR is
because of the injection
of water that will initially
depressurized the layers
Increase of GOR signifies
the volume of gas that
comes out of solution is
higher compared to the
earlier production.
At approximately fifth
month, the GOR starts to
decrease due to low
volume of gas in solution
until the end of
production.
