Stimulants are drugs that speed up
the activity of the central nervous
system. Stimulants are useful in
treating many medical conditions,
including ADHD, narcolepsy,
asthma, obesity, and depression. 
-sometimes called “uppers,”
temporarily increase alertness and
energy
-a commonly abused drug that affects
the central nervous system raising the
body’s levels of physiological activity.
-it gives high feelings to the user.
-example: nicotine, caffeine,
ecstasy
- When the stimulant wears off,
the user will feel fatigue,
weakness, sleepiness, deep
sadness, and depression. This
stage is called the down or the
crash.

mood and behavior when
inhaled.
• Non medical inhalants are
uncontrolled drugs.
• Permanent effects to health of
these chemicals are permanent
brain damage, leukemia,
poisoning damaged heart and
kidney, or even sudden death.
• Most abused inhalants are easily
accessible because they are not
produced to be inhaled. They
are common household
products, construction and
industrial supplies etc.
• Some types of inhalants include
rugby, nail polish remover,
gasoline, nitrous oxide or
laughing gas, and furniture
polish.
Abusive drugs harm the
body more than they help.
It can cause addiction,
damage to different body
organs, chronic diseases
and death.
