Background

Highlights  Year: 1st July, 2002

• Came into existence after unbundling of Delhi Vidyut Board into


six entities
– one holding company
– one generation company (GENCO) (IPGCL)
– one transmission company (TRANSCO)
– three distribution companies (DISCOMS).

• Major function of IPGCL was generation of electricity with an


installed capacity of 994.5 MW and 3000 MW capacity addition
in pipeline

Legal structure

Highlights
• Joint Venture Company was Incorporated on 21.12.2006
with, Indraprastha Power Generation Company Ltd. (IPGCL)
and Haryana Power Generation Company Ltd(HPGCL).

• HPGCL and (IPGCL) also formed a joint venture company


for developing a coal block at Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh.

Financial Summary

Highlights
• During the year Pragati Power Corporation Ltd. presented
dividend cheques of Rs.17.5 Cr. and Rs.14 Cr. for the years
2003-04 &2004-05 resp. to the Hon’ble Chief Minister,
Delhi

• Pragati Power Corporation Ltd. has handed over a dividend


cheque of Rs. 21.96 Crores to Chief Minister of Delhi

• The overall performance (PLF) of IPGCL increased to


56.81% during the year 2005-06 from 46.92% in the year
2001-02, before unbundling of DVB.

• Carry on the business of purchasing, importing, exporting,
producing, trading, manufacturing including finalization of
tariff

• Acquire, establish, develop, construct, erect, lay, operate,


run, maintain, modernize, work and use in the National
Capital Territory of Delhi and other Electric Generating
Stations and all things connected

association with Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt.
of NCT of Delhi and ECO Club schools of GNCTD.

• Active Participation By IPGCL and PPCL in "Greening of


DELHI"
– thousands of trees is planted every year

• 100% Fly Ash utilization achieved in the year 2003-2004


and 2004-2005.

.In this IPGCL contribution was 513 MW which is highest ever

• IPGCL-PPCL with NICSI Launched " PARIVARTAN"- The Turn Key


Project To Implement SAP-ERP on February 09-2009.

• Foundation Stone of 1500 MW, Pragati-III Power Project at


Bawana laid On 24-MARCH-2008

• Foundation Stone of 1500 MW Indira Gandhi Super Thermal


Power Station laid at Jhajjar in Harayana on 07.10.2007. Delhi
gets 750 MW power from this project.
