PKSR 1 2008 A CANTEEN DAY

A Canteen Day is celebrate almost in every schools in


Malaysia. Mostly the teachers and pupils take part on that
day. Last week, SK Seri Iskandar had a Canteen Day. Two days
before the events, the teachers and pupils cooperated each other to
set up and decorated the stalls beautifully. They put some balloons
and ribbons at their stalls to attract the customers to come and buy
things that will be sold. They were very hardworking to ensure the
Canteen Day will be succeeded.
As the Canteen Day began at early in the morning, the pupils
and the teachers were well prepared at their stalls waiting for the
customers . Some stalls were selling handicrafts, toys, food, drinks ,
clothes and old books. The stall which was selling toys and
handicrafts crowded with many children and parents who interested
to buy.
There was a counter selling coupons to the parents and
people which they could use them to get food and drinks for
lunch. In the afternoon, the food and drinks were sold out
because most people felt exhausted and ravenous.
Late evening, the pupils tidied their stalls because all the
things had been sold. They cleaned the place to avoid the
environment from pollution. The money which had been collected
was given to the teacher in- charged, Puan Siti Fazira. She
counted the money with another teachers in the school library.
The money collected will be used to buy more books for
the school library. The headmaster and the teachers were very
happy and proud of the contribution of their pupils during the
Canteen Day. The stall which collected money the most was
given a prize by the headmaster during
the assembly. All the teachers and pupils were very happy
with the unforgettable experience event for them.
SPORTS DAY
Last Sunday, SK Seri Iskandar was having a
Sports Day. It was held at the school field. Before the
sports day, teachers and pupils decorated the field with
the tents and colourful flags.They were very hardworking
to make sure that the Sports Day will be succeeded.
On the Sports Day, many parents came to watch
their children who took part in the sports events. The
sports started with the march past participated by the
school band , Scouts Club and Red Crescent Society.
The school band played a few famous songs medley.
After the march past, the sports events started.
It started with 100 metres sprint and followed by the other
events. The spectators applaused and cheered to the
participants who took part.
After two hours of the events, there was a break for
the participants.The spectators enjoyed the
performanced by a troupe of school dancers. Then it was
a prize giving for the winners of the events. The pupils
went home with their parents as the Sports day ended
at 5.00 p.m.

Mother,s Day
Yesterday was Mother’s day. Siti and her brother,
Roshdan wished their mother and gave her a lovely
brooch as their gift. They also thanked her for taking
care of them. Their mother was very surprised and
happy. She felt proud of her son and daughter.
When dear daddy returned home from work, he gave
their mother a bouquet of beautiful roses. Roses were
her favourite flowers.
That evening, the whole family went for dinner at a
famous restaurant in town. They ordered a sumptuous
meal specially for their mother. They were very happy
to celebrate Mother’s day and it was an unforgettable
day for their mother.
Hari Raya Puasa
Hari Raya Puasa is celebrated by the Muslims every
year after fasting for a month. It is the first day of Syawal.
All Muslims preparing their houses to celebrate
Hari Raya. Mostly women will busy making biscuits and
cakes to serve to the guests.
Rafik and his family are busy on the first day of Hari
Raya. Rafik and his father are wearing new clothes
same as his mother. His mother is preparing food for
the guests. Rafik and his father are going to the mosque
to pray which is only a stone’s throw away from his house.
Many friends who live around his house come to
visit Rafik and his family. There are Malays, Chinese
and Indians. They are very excited and love to eat
ketupat and chicken rendang. They have a happy time
together.
NATIONAL DAY

Today is 31 August and it is our National Day. The


National Day celebration is held at Dataran Merdeka. It is
A grand celebration and the place is beautifully decorated
With colourful flags , banners and bantings.
The king and Queen, the Prime Minister and other
Ministers and dignitaries are standing at the grandstand.
The whole place is crowded with spectators who have
come to watch the parade. Then, the King inspects the
guards of honour. The soldiers stand still when the King
walks past them.
The colour parade is interesting but the most
spectacular is the air show. Many different types of
aircraft fly in the sky doing hair-raising stunts. There are
also spectacular performances by skydivers.
Everyone cheers at the stunts. It is indeed a grand
celebration. The spectators feel excited and have a good
time.
