NOUNS MAZE
Singular Nouns
A singular noun names one person,
place, thing, or idea. There are a few
basic rules to remember when it comes
to turning a singular noun into a
plural noun.
Plural Nouns
A plural noun is a word that indicates that
there is more than one person, animal
place, thing, or idea. When you talk about
more than one of anything, you're
using plural nouns. When you write about
more than one of anything, you usually use
the same word, simply adding an s, es, or
ies to the end.
Rules of Plural Nouns
If a singular noun ends with 'ch', 'sh', 'x', 's', or 'z', add an -es to
make it plural.
Nouns ending in –ch and –sh
church-churches
bush-bushes

Nouns ending in –s, -x,-z

bus-buses
box-boxes
quiz-quizzes
Rules of Plural Nouns
If the noun ends with ‑f or ‑fe, the f is usually changed to ‑ve before adding the -s
to form the plural version. To the nouns ending in –y before a vowel just add –s while for nouns
ending in –y before a consonant change y to i then add –es.
For the nouns ending in –o with vowel just add-s while for the nouns ending in –o with consonant
add-es.
Nouns ending in –f or-fe
leaf-leaves
knife- knives

Nouns ending in –o and –y

radio-radios
tomato-tomatoes
key-keys
baby-babies
Rules of Irregular Plural Nouns
Irregular plural nouns are nouns that do not
become plural by adding -s or -es, as most nouns in the
English language do. You're probably familiar with many of
these already. For example, the plural form of man is men,
not mans. The plural form of woman is women, not
womans.
