SYPNOSIS OF THE MOVIE

Jane, a recent college graduate and aspiring film
producer, just landed her dream job as a junior assistant
to a powerful entertainment mogul. Her day is much like
any other assistant - making coffee, ordering lunch,
arranging travel accommodations taking phone
messages, and onboarding a new hire. But as Jane
follows her daily routine, she grows increasingly aware of
the abuse that insidiously colors every aspect of her
workday, an accumulation of degradations against which
she decides to take a stand, only to discover the truth
depth of the system into which she has entered.
SYPNOSIS OF THE VIDEO EXCERPTS

Jane was received a call from her boss to talk about her
behavior and let out harsh word to jane. Next, jane was
buying lunch for her colleagues before one of her
colleagues scold her because buy wrong lunch to him.
Jane go to the HR department to fail a complain and
wilcock has start small talk to release the tension between
him and jane. Next , jane was cleaning the dishes at pantry
before 2 of her coworker came in and left the dirty dishes
to Jane cleaning them. Jane was give her colleagues their
schedule on the weekend . Last is jane was writing the
apology letter to her boss and one of her colleague was
helping her to write the apology letter.

POLITENESS – IMPOLITE WORDS

• As a boss, he shouldn’t use impolite words to his employee
even if he is angry with her. It is not entirely her fault to begin
with as the wife is the one who called first, and she just trying to
help.
• The way jane’s boss talk to her shows that he is someone with
a low morale. This will make jane feel offended and hurts her
feeling as it is not her intention to pry into her boss personal
issue.
• Jane’s boss should ask and talk about the matters nicely
instead of immediately curse and yell at her without letting jane
explained herself first and told her what to do in this kind of
situation if it happens again next time.

BEING IMPOLITE AND DISRECPECTFUL

• Not saying thank you when jane have bought and distribute the
food and even get mad for getting the wrong sandwich can be
considered as being impolite and it shows that they are not
appreciating and respect her as a colleague.
• This will cause jane to feel irritated and unappreciated as she

has done her best to treat her colleagues nicely by buying them
lunch and distribute it to them even though she is busy with her
work.
• Jane’s colleagues should learn how to respect and being polite

to Jane as their colleagues by saying thank you whenever they
receive help from Jane. Jane also should let her colleagues
know how she feels regarding the way they treated her by talking
to them.
CRITICAL INCIDENT 3
ENGAGING IN SMALL TALK

• To lessen the awkwardness, Wilcock start the conversation first
when he saw jane expression doesn’t look good to help jane feel
more relaxed and less nervous to talk to him about her problems.
• By engaging in small talk, it can boost mood and lower stress.

The conversation initiates by Wilcock help making jane less
tense and feel more relaxed and comfortable to share her
concern.
• When initiating a conversation, a person can start by making a

small talk by asking about their well-being, interest, or dreams.
This can get rid the awkwardness when having one-to-one
conversation.
CONCLUSION
There is much we can learn from this video excerpts in
terms of professional and unprofessional behavior in the
workplace. This video excerpts highlights the importance
of being polite and respectful towards employees and
among coworkers and how to initiate a conversation. We
can conclude that a polite manner of conversing can help
you earn the respect of others and saying thank you to
someone is considered as being polite to other people.
Engaging in small talk can also build both personal and
professional relationship and encourage social contact
as well as improve mental function when having one to
one conversation.

DISRESPECTFUL AMONG WORKER

Jane was cleaning the dishes when there 2 colleagues went to
the pantry with their dishes. Jane though they was waiting for
their turn to wash their dishes.
After their talk with each other, their just left their dishes
without saying anything to Jane and let Jane washes their
dishes. This show their do not respect Jane as their
colleagues. This can cause Jane experienced isolation
For Jane, she need defend herself by told them what she felt
on how their behavior. By express her felling, it can solve the
issue among them.

DEPENDABILITY
As the junior assistant , Jane was do her job very well to
organized the schedule for her coworker on time.
By completing her task in time, the Jane reputation for

reliability precedes Jane because her colleagues can trust her
to do her task that given to Jane.
Jane need to keep this up to earn more respect and trust from
her coworker .
CRITICAL INCIDENT 6
ACCOUNTABILITY
Jane was email her superior an apology letter because her
mistakes while one of her colleague was helping her
By sending an apology letter, Jane admit her mistakes and use

them as learning experience so that her will not repeat same
mistakes in the futures
Besides sending apology letter, Jane also can see her boss
herself to tell the boss about her mistakes and their can find
the ideal solution so the same problem will not be repeat
again.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion there are so many thing that can learn from the
video excerpts which are how to respect the coworker, how to
become someone that are dependable and how to reflect on our
mistakes. We need to respect each other at the office especially
when we need help from our colleagues . We also need to work
efficiently so that other colleagues cand depend on us. We also
need admit our mistakes and use them as learning experianced.
