4.Pergola
• A pergola is an outdoor garden feature forming a shaded walkway, passageway, or
sitting area of vertical posts or pillars that usually support cross-beams and a sturdy
open lattice, often upon which woody vines are trained. The origin of the word is the
Late Latin pergula, referring to a projecting eave.
This beautiful structure is a wonderful way to define your outdoor space without closing it and
connecting it with the indoor space. A pergola makes a versatile addition to any outdoor living area
because it can be customized to fit the style of your yard, whether it’s formal or casual. The
freestanding poolside pergola can create a focal point.
• Modern pergola design materials including wood, vinyl, fiberglass,
aluminum and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) rather than
brick or stone pillars, are more affordable and are increasing in
popularity. Wooden pergolas are either made from a weather-
resistant wood, such as western redcedar (Thuja plicata) or,
formerly, of coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), are painted or
stained, or use wood treated with preservatives for outdoor use. For
a low maintenance alternative to wood, vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum,
and CPVC can be used. These materials do not require yearly paint
or stain like a wooden pergola and their manufacture can make
them even stronger and longer-lasting than a wooden pergola.

GAZEBO
• A gazebo is a pavilion structure, sometimes octagonal or turret-
shaped, often built in a park, garden or spacious public area.[1]
Some are used on occasions as bandstands.
Gazebos are freestanding or attached to a garden wall,
roofed, and open on all sides. They provide shade, shelter
from rain and a place to rest, while acting as an
ornamental feature. Some gazebos in public parks are
large enough to serve as a bandstand

In today's England and North America, gazebos are

typically built of wood and covered with standard roofing
materials, such as shingles. Gazebos can be tent-style
structures of poles covered by tensioned fabric. Gazebos
may have screens to aid in the exclusion of flying insects.

6. Open Well / light well
• Light wells were a typical way to gain natural light in an urban building. Reflections from the polished surface
can create the illusion of extra sunlight, illuminating the room. So for interior space material like stainless steel
can be used. Natural light can bring the warmth into a space. A light well is not just an opening in the roof to
the sky, but a whole volume extracted from the total volume of the building for light and air circulation.
