COVER LETTER / RESUME
Arinto ( 2009) – a cover letter
( application letter ) is a letter to a prospective
employer to persuade him/her to give you a
job.
•One-page long , in about three to five
paragraphs
•First paragraph : State interest in the
specified position and reasons
•Second paragraph : State qualifications
supported with concrete and specific details .

• Closing paragraph- Request for interview or
some form of follow-up action. Provide contact
information or mention the option of calling or
sending an email to arrange for an interview.

EMPLOYMENT INTERVIEWS
1.Information interview- the goal is
to gather facts and opinions from
someone with expertise and
experience on a specific field.
2.Appraisal interview – where a
supervisor makes an estimation
and judgment of the quality and
worth of an employee’s
performance .

3. Disciplinary interview – an
interview conducted following a
disciplinary investigation.
4. Exit interview – occurs at the
termination of an employment.
5. Stress interview – conducted to
see how the employee act under
pressure or how to respond to
difficult situations.

PREPARATIONS FOR A JOB
INTERVIEW:

• Arrive early and present yourself well;
•Smile , make eye contact and control your
body movements.
•Be clear and show enthusiasm.
•Wait for the interviewer to officially signal
the end of the interview
