Filipino's are people who are native to or citizens of the country living in the
philippines.
The Filipino culture is an exuberant story that tells of the nation's journey through
the centuries. Customs reflect the people's faith, their oneness with others, their
affinity with nature, and their celebration of life.
The Philippines has a very unique culture due to the influences of colonization and
the surrounding countries.
This country, as we can observe, consists of different and various traditions and
cultures that is due to the different influences of the different colonizers that
happened to occur.
The Filipino's charm lies in their smiles, in the numerous religious festivals that
venerate nature, the Divine and the cycles of life and in the virtue of pakikipag-
kapwa tao that treasures relationships, with friends and strangers alike. The
concept of kapwa(others) is at the core of the Filipino soul. A Filipino scholar says
of the Filipino: the joy of his being is in being with others.
The Filipino culture and values are just among the good things that are appreciated by
many people from across the world. In the Philippines, family is valued so much.
Children live with their parents until they are married. The Filipino family culture is
something that many people applaud because the locals value family time so much.
The Filipinos' temperament is as warm and constant as their sunshine. Their way of life is
rich, diverse and rooted. They are in harmony with others and face the world with an
engagingly courageous spirit.

Narrative Report
Culture and its heritage reflect and shape values, beliefs, and aspirations, consequently
defining a people's national identity. It is significant to maintain our cultural heritage,
because it keeps our integrity as a human and allows us to better understand previous
generations.
Culture plays an significant role in one's life. Not just by the fact that it drives and lead
the citizens to their way of life but it is also the key to one's identity. We only call
ourselves as a Filipino citizenship but our nationality roots in the region where we
belong.
The National Museum in Manila, which houses a substantial ethnographic collection, is the
principal government vehicle for preservation and conservation of the country’s tangible and
intangible cultural property. Many of the provinces have established their own museums
dedicated to local history and tradition. A few institutions of higher education—such as the
University of Santo Tomas, Silliman University in eastern Negros, Mindanao State University in
Lanao del Sur, and the University of the Philippines at Diliman—likewise have added museums
to their campuses. The National Library serves as a repository for Philippine literary materials
and supervises public libraries throughout the country.
