Introduction:
 "Doctor Appointment System" has been developed to override the

problems prevailing in the practicing manual system. This software is
supported to eliminate and in some cases reduce the hardships faced
by this existing system. Moreover this system is designed for the
particular need of the company to carry out operations in a smooth and
effective manner.
Literature review:
 This is a web based application that overcomes the issue of managing and
booking appointments according to user’s choice or demands. The task
sometimes becomes very tedious for the compounder or doctor himself in
manually allotting appointments for the users as per their availability.
Hence this project offers an effective solution where users can view
various booking slots available and select the preferred date and time
 The already booked space will be marked yellow and will not be available
for anyone else for the specified time. This system also allows users to
cancel their booking anytime. The system provides an additional feature of
calculating monthly earnings of doctor. Doctor has to just feed the system
regularly with daily earnings and the system automatically generates a
report of total amount earned at the end of the month. The application
uses Asp.net as a front-end and sql database as the back-end.
Advantages:
• This system helps to reduce the waiting time of the patient.

• User can select the appointment time according to his preference.
• Available and booked slots are shown in effective graphical user interface.
Disadvantages:
• It requires an internet connection.

• It requires large database.
Problem Statement
 The case study titled Doctor Appointment Booking System for

the purpose of keeping a track of the appointments taken by
the patients. This case study on Doctor Appointment Booking
System gives us the complete information about the
appointments and the detailed information of the patients in
the hospital. This is a web based application system that
overcomes the issue of managing and booking appointments
according to the patient’s choice or demands.

Hardware – Software requirements
 In this system or project, there is no requirement of any hardware

component. We require only software requirement in terms of
programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL. And by
implementing the codes we can normally make a website or a web
application for online doctor appointment system .

 Software Implementation
The proposed software system consists of two major components-Front end and
Backend.
 Front end (Client Side)

AngularJS is used to design the front end or interface of the system.
AngularJS is an open source JavaScript framework maintained by Google and
community which can help developers to create single page applications. AngularJS
which are built on top of the JavaScript are making the life of developers very easy.
application is to make your web application modular and easy to maintain. Its
purpose is to help developing the web applications with model-view controller
(MVC) capability in an effort to make development, maintaining and testing easier.
 Back end (Server Side)
The backend describe the data access layer ,server and other computational logic of
the system. The backend of the proposed system was designed with AJAX and PHP
for scripting. MYSQL AND SQLITE are used for developing system's Database.
Apache server software was used for the server side.
Future Work
 Future work or future scope of online doctor appointment

system is that it will make the patient easier for getting
appointment easily without standing in crowd of lines. And
also it will be use at a high amount of people. Due to this it
will have to a huge amount of memory for database of all
hospitals, doctors etc. Without giving memory space, the
performance of this system will get low. And also we have to
provide a huge server for this to run and to control all users,
doctors, hospitals etc in a proper way.
Conclusion:
 After finishing up my project I have to state that, I tried my best in order to develop
the software in the most suitable, helpful and easiest method that can be used by
the user easily. Users can easily pickup their expected information based upon their
privilege. It will help users in many ways like it is totally online based system, It
satisfies the social needs, It is efficient, Manages every ones time, Simple platform
for doctor and patient. This is web based software and it will be going to accessible
from any computer by using internet. I tried to develop automated doctor
appointment and doctor help management system software which recovers as
possible the drawbacks.
