COL. 1:24-29
Colossians 1:24-29
24 Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is
still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the
church. 25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present
to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden
for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. 27 To them
God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this
mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all
wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. 29 To this end I
strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.
Colosas 1:24-29
24 Ikinagagalak ko ngayon ang aking mga pagdurusa para sa inyo, at sa pamamagitan ng aking
katawan ay nadaragdagan ko ang anumang kakulangan sa mga paghihirap ni Cristo alang-alang
sa kanyang katawan, ang iglesya. 25 Ako'y naging lingkod nito, ayon sa katungkulang
ipinagkatiwala ng Diyos sa akin, upang maipahayag sa inyo nang lubusan ang salita ng Diyos. 26
Ito ang hiwaga na iningatang lihim sa napakahabang panahon at sa mga salinlahi, ngunit ngayo'y
malinaw na inihayag sa kanyang mga banal. 27 Ninais ng Diyos na ipaunawa sa kanila ang
napakaluwalhating kayamanan ng hiwagang ito sa gitna ng mga bansa, na ito'y si Cristo na nasa
inyo, ang pag-asa tungo sa kaluwalhatian. 28 Siya ang aming ipinangangaral. Binabalaan namin
at tinuturuan ang bawat isa nang buong karunungan, upang ang bawat tao ay maiharap naming
nasa ganap na kalagayan kay Cristo. 29 Dahil dito'y nagpapakahirap ako, nagsisikap sa
pamamagitan ng kanyang lakas na makapangyarihang kumikilos sa akin.
Suffering
Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake,

and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in
Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that
is the church. (v. 24)
Rejoice in my sufferings – for the sake of the gospel. Get the gospel out to all ‘It wouldn’t matter
if Jesus died 1000 times if nobody ever heard about it.’ - Martin Luther

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in
him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And
how are they to preach unless they are sent? Romans 10:14-15a
Serve the Lord through His church

The stewardship of the ministry
Of which I became a minister according to the stewardship
from God that was given to me for you, to make the word
of God fully known. (v. 25)
From God Given to his servants
Make the word of God fully known.
From Mystery to Revelation
The mystery hidden for ages and generations but now
revealed to his saints. (v. 26)
It was a mystery.
Now it’s clear.
Revealed to his saints
The Indwelling Christ
To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are
the riches of the
glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you the hope of Glory. (v.
27)
Made known to the nations
The riches of the glory of this mystery
Christ in you
The hope of glory
Proclaim Him!
Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching
everyone with all wisdom, that we may present
everyone mature in Christ. (v. 28)

Work Hard – Put Your All In It
For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he
powerfully works within me.(v. 29)

Powerfully working in believers
The key to the Christian life is Christ in your life.
1. You will be able to face suffering.
2. You will steward well the ministry God gives you.
3. You will declare the gospel.
4. You will live with hope because of Christ.
5. You will proclaim him to everyone with intentionality.
6. You will labor faithfully, in the power of the Lord.
