ABSTRACT:
• The robot in the proposed project is designed to be used in High voltage engineering
laboratory.
• The dangerous environment created within the HVE lab during high voltage
experiments makes it dangerous for human assistance.
• Manual discharging is followed till date and is quite risky if proper precautions are
not taken.
• The proposed project helps the person to carry out this discharging process easily by
controlling a robot from a distance, which eliminates risks of High voltage.
• The controller can sit at ease and control the robot using an android.
INTRODUCTION
• All types of relays, electrical machine protection plans, measurements of HVAC (High
Voltage Alternating Current) and HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), the breakdown
strength of transformer oil, and field mapping using an electrolytic tank for capacitor and
transmission lines are all concentrated in the high voltage laboratory.
• Because they never grow weary, can work in situations that are uncomfortable or even
dangerous, can function in an environment without air, don’t become bored by repetition,
and can’t be diverted from their current duty, robots are particularly ideal for some types of
employment.
• In daily life, there are so many potentially dangerous circumstances.
The human being cannot work in so many situations.

WORKING OF THE PROJECT
• In high voltage laboratory, fire will happen due to the high voltages ,on that time the
smoke detectors can alert before they become fire victims.
• Whenever smoke sensor is sense the smoke and beep sound will come from the buzzer
and this data is given to microcontroller . Based on data the fire extinguish will ON
through relay and we can detect the fire.
• The smoke detector is sense the burning smell and beep sound will come from buzzer and
this information is given to microcontroller.
• The robot arm consist of stick and with the help of stick we can discharge the high
voltage with movement of robot arm up/down and left/right.
• Whenever the stick is connected to high voltage machines the voltage is flowing to
ground .
• With the help of android phone it’s been controlled through the Bluetooth module that is
connected to the microcontroller board which is then connected the two motor drivers
for the movement of the robot.
HARDWARE DESCRIPITION:
Arduino uno :
The Arduino Mega is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. It has 14
digital input/output pins , 6 analog inputs, UARTs, a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB
connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything
needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB
cable or power it with an AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started.
Relay:
A Relay is an electromechanical switch, which perform ON and OFF activities without
any human connection. Transfers are utilized where it is important to control a circuit
by a low power signal (with complete electrical confinement among control and
controlled circuits), or where a few circuits should be constrained by one signal.
Buzzer:
The buzzer or beeper is a voice signaling device that can be mechanical, electromechanical
or piezoelectric. Typical buzzers and beepers applications include confirmation of user
inputs, such as alarms, timers and mouse clicks or pulsations. The piezoelectric element
can be operated by a vibrating electronics or another source of audio signal driven by a
piezoelectric audio amplifier. The sound is commonly used to indicate that the button has
been pressed is click, ring or beep.
Bluetooth Module :
Bluetooth module (Bluetooth module) refers to the basic circuit set of the chip with
integrated Bluetooth function, used for short-range 2.4G wireless communication module.
For the end user, the Bluetooth module is a semi-finished product. A USB-based device that
transmits and receives Bluetooth wireless signals. It plugs into the USB port to support
Bluetooth mice, keyboards and other Bluetooth devices.
Motor Driver :
Motor drivers acts as an interface between the motors and the control circuits. Motor
require high amount of current whereas the controller circuit works on low current
signals. So the function of motor drivers is to take a low-current control signal and then
turn it into a higher-current signal that can drive a motor.
Smoke Sensor :
Smoke detectors can alert sleeping residents before they become fire victims. By
installing and maintaining smoke detectors in your home you can reduce your chances
of dying in a fire by 50%. Smoke detectors should be installed on every level of the
home and in every room where someone sleeps.
Robotic Arm:
Robotic arm motors will perform based on the control signals like up/down.
SOFTWARE DESCRIPITION
Android APP:
The MIT android app will based for controlling the robot. First we need to pair
the device then connect to the Arduino Bluetooth device. Once connected the
device we can able to send the commands.
Arduino IDE:
Completed Task:
1. Detailed study of the components and the pin diagrams used.
2. Reference papers are been referred by us for more ideas to be implemented in the
project.
3. Software implementation.
Tasks to be Completed:
4. Hardware Implementations: Completion of Circuit Diagram with all the
applications included.
5. Building/Assembling the Robot according to the Circuit Diagram.
6. Checking for the errors in the implementation and rectifying the errors.
7. After the errors have been Rectified weather, the implemented robot is working
according to intended plan.
8. Completion of the project.
9. Project Submission.
