First Aid
(Intentional Injuries)
The term “intentional” is used
to refer to injuries resulting from
purposeful human action,
whether directed at oneself or
others. Intentional injuries
include self-inflicted and
interpersonal acts of violence
intended to cause them.
Intentional Injuries
These are injuries resulting from
violence. It can be divided into
two:
a. self-inflected, when a person
harms himself/herself on purpose.
b. assault, when
person/persons harm another on
purpose.

SUICIDE AND
PARASUIDE
SUICIDE means ending your
own life. It is sometimes a way
of people to escape pain or
suffering.
PARASUICIDE an apparent
attempt at suicide, commonly
called a suicidal gesture, in
which the aim is not death.
DOMESTIC
is anVIOLENCE
act that includes
physical assault (hitting,
pushing, shoving
etc.)sexual abuse
(unwanted or forced
sexual activity), and
verbal abuse.
BULLYING
Is an unwanted, aggressive
behavior. The behavior is
repeated, or can be
repeated over time. Both
kids who are bullied and
who bully others may have
serious lasting problems.
VERBAL BULLYING
Saying or writing mean
and nasty things. It
includes (teasing, name-
calling, making
inappropriate sexual
comments, taunting, and
threatening to cause harm)
SOCIAL BULLYING
Sometimes referred to as
relational bullying-hurting
someone’s reputation or
relationships. It includes
(telling other children not
to be friends w/someone,
spreading humors)
PHYSICAL
Hurting a person’s body
BULLYING
or destroying his
possessions. It includes
(hitting, kicking, spitting,
pushing, taking or
breaking someone’s
things, rude hand
CYBERBULLYING
Verbal and social bullying
done through use of
technology and electronic
means. It includes (using
social media, mobile
devices, electronic mail)
STALKING
Is a pattern of behavior
that makes you feel afraid
nervous, harass or in
danger. It is when someone
repeatedly contacts you,
follows you, send you
things, and talks to you.
EXTORTION
Is the act of using
force or threats to
force people to hand
over their money or
properties, on favors.
GANG AND YOUTH
VIOLENCE
A gang is defined as a
relatively tough, mostly
street-based group of young
people who regard
themselves and may be seen
by others as a group that
engages in a range of criminal
activity and violence.
FRATERNITY
Is a group of people
w/similar backgrounds,
occupations, interests or
tastes. In campuses and
universities, fraternities
are represented Greek
letters.
SEXUAL ABUSE
INCEST-is sexual
between persons who
are so closely related
that a marriage
between them is
considered illegal.
SEXUAL ABUSE
MOLESTATION-is the
sexual abuse of a
person by an adult
for sexual pleasure or
for profit.
SEXUAL ABUSE
RAPE-is forced
sexual intercourse.
