Essential theory about
directed creativity.
Directed creativity involves using
specific techniques to perceive things
freshly, break free of the current
patterns stored in memory, make novel
associations among concepts stored in
memory, and use judgment to develop
rather than reject new ideas.
Six theories of creativity

INTELLIGENT KNOWLEDGE
DIFFERENT THINKING PERSONALITY

MOTIVATION ENVIRONMENT
DIRECTED CREATIVITY CYCLE
FOUR COMPONENTS

The theory specifies that creativity requires a confluence of

four components:
Creativity should be highest when
 an intrinsically motivated person.
 high domain expertise .
 high skill in creative thinking.
 works in an environment high in supports for
creativity.
ATTITUDES,APPROACHES
& ACTIONS.
ATTITUDEs
Attitude is a psychological construct that is a
mental and emotional entity that inheres or characterizes a
person, their attitude to approach to something, or their
personal view on it. Attitude involves their mindset, outlook
and feelings.
ATTITUDE IN ETHICS
An attitude is “a relatively enduring
organization of beliefs, feelings, and behavioral
tendencies towards socially significant objects,
groups, events or symbols” “a psychological
tendency that is expressed by evaluating a
particular entity with some degree of favour or
disfavour”.
APPROACHES
Approach to a task, problem, or
situation is the way you deal with it or think
about it. We will be exploring different
approaches to gathering information.
actions
An action is an event that an agent
performs for a purpose, that is guided by the person's
intention. The first question in the philosophy of action
is to determine how actions differ from other forms of
behavior, like involuntary reflexes.

DEFINITION

 The process of imagining, creating, and iterating

products that solve users' problems or address specific
needs in a given market.
 The key to successful product design is understanding
the end-user customer, the person for whom the
product is being created.

INTRODUCTION TO TRIZ
METHODOLOGYOF INVENTIVE
PROBLEM SOLVING.
What is triz?
 It involves a technique for problem solving created by
observing the commonalities in solutions discovered in
the past.
 Created by Genrich Altshuller in the former Soviet
Union, the Six Sigma technique recognizes that certain
patterns emerge whenever inventions are made.
Key concepts

 The basic concept behind TRIZ, based on

research findings, implies that problems and
solutions repeat themselves, they repeat across
industries.
 These problems are contradictions that can be
resolved using creative solutions.
What are the 4 pillars of TRIZ?
 The traditional TRIZ concept contains 4
philosophies (Mann, 2000).
 They are
1)Ideality
2)Resources
3)Functionality
4)Contradiction.
 Mann (2007) identified Space/Time/Interface as
the fifth pillar of TRIZ.
