any mixture (a solution, compound, or gas).

• It has been important part of day to day life as Soap/detergent to Sugar,


medicine etc.

• Apart from daily life, chemicals are widely used in


industries as IPA, Toluene, Solvents etc.
• Chemicals may be Hazardous in nature, Flammable, Toxic,
Carcinogenic

1. Chemicals to be packed and stored in suitable containers.
2. Containers to be suitably labelled and colour coded.

5. Keep containers closed when not in use

9. Always read labels’ MSDSs and labels carefully prior to use chemicals.

10. Ensure that storage areas meet regulatory requirements
11. Keep yourself and the work area clean
12. Never eat, drink, or smoke while using hazardous chemicals
13. Use personal protective equipment as required
14. Always wash up after using chemicals
15. Never smell or taste a chemical to identify it
16. Know all emergency procedures and equipment

Handling Chemical Emergencies
• Emergency phone numbers must be available in area
• Persons must be trained to control the spills & emergencies
Chemicals in the Eyes
• Don’t rub the eyes
• Hold eyelids open and flush with water for 15 minutes
• Be careful not to contaminate the other eye
• Seek additional medical attention

Chemicals exposure to skin


• Flush area with lukewarm water for 15 minutes
• Remove clothing and jewelry from burn area
• Seek additional medical attention

Chemicals inhalation & ingestion


• Move victim to fresh air
• Get immediate help
• Induce to Vomit if suggested by Poison control measures
