REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES 1. One of the most tedious part of the research process is to search for literature and studies. 2. The purpose of RRLS is to provide references that will support the writer's argument and claim that the problem exists and needs to be investigated. 3. This part of the study includes a detailed and organized presentation of facts and ideas relevant to the study being undertaken. 4. The RRLS may also be used to expound the research gap. 5. Organize your ideas by using labels and headings. 6. In writing the content of the RRLS it is crucial that the ideas, facts and knowledge presented are organized in a way that readers and panelist will easily identify the following: a. start by writing the introductory statement
b. The problem or issue being
investigated c. References that supports the existence of the problem D. The effect and affected variables of the research problem.
E. References that calls for the need
to conduct investigation of the problem f. Studies that recommends areas for further investigation relevant to the research being conducted REMINDER: • it is crucial that you SYNTHESIZE the references, whether literature or studies, to the research that you are conducting • A grand synthesis is also recommended to be written towards the last paragraph of the RRLS MECHANICS: •8 to 10 pages •Local and foreign studies •Local and foreign literatures
