To sum up…
CAN Ability: I can speak German. Could: for ability in past. I could swim when I was 5.
Permission: Can I go to the toilet? Could I go out earlier?
Request: Can you help me? (peticiones)
We can also use ‘could’ or ‘may’ to ask for permission. ‘Could’ is more polite than
‘can’, and ‘may’ is normally used in formal situations.

MUST Obligation: He must wear a uniform for his new job.

CAN’T Prohibition: You can’t listen to music in class.

SHOULD Advice: You should get more exercise.

SUGGESTIONS
Other ways of suggesting

Use the verbs suggest or recommend


‘suggest’ / ’recommend’ + ‘-ing’ form
Ex. The waitress recommends trying the house wine.
Ex. I suggest asking for more time.
It is also possible to use a full sentence after ‘suggest’ and ‘recommend’.
‘suggest’ / ’recommend’ + (that) + subject + infinitive without ‘to’
Ex. I suggest that your company refund our money.
Ex. We recommend that Keith stay in Brussels.
Ex. I suggest you study harder.

Para expresar números decimales en inglés usamos un punto (.) Y lo llamamos point.
Ex: 0.5 = zero point five 7.8 = seven point eight.
Para decir una cantidad monetaria tenemos distintos tipos de moneda pero todos se ponen dela
número.
$ 24 = twenty-four dollars
€ 72 = seventy-two euros
£ 23.45 = twenty three pounds forty five pence or twenty three forty five

Para decir los años no ponemos ni punto ni coma.

Ex: In 2020, I went to London.
