For Srinagar: CMP (Comprehensive Mobility Plan by
RITES, 2017) and Master Plan 2019 are considered to
understand modal share analysis.
• Srinagar with annual population growth rate of 2.0 per cent
has registered a phenomenal increase in vehicular population
during the last decade. Its vehicular traffic is increasing
SRINAGAR rapidly at more than 7.0 per cent per annum (Master plan,
2019).
• As per CMP, about 36% of urban road space is consumed by
private modes (Cars/TWVs) which share about 30% of the
total motorised passenger trips. On the other hand, public
transport using 44% of road space caters to 70% of the total
motorised passenger trips in main city areas.

• The rapid pace of urbanization that Jaipur has witnessed will
continue in future and as a consequence it is imperative that
the transport system must support the Jaipur city and regional
development.
• The existing infrastructures and facilities of transport in the
town will be inadequate to adequately meet the demands of
JAIPUR the future growth by the horizon year. Integration of transport
facilities with the economic activity areas must be a priority.
• In spite of having and relying on non-motorized modes of
transport (about 31%) non-motorized facilities are deplorable
and needs to be improved and integrated with the public
transport system. The increased vehicular traffic has
deteriorated the environment of Jaipur.

fatalities.
• Comprehensive Mobility Plan 2046 for Surat is a strategic
transportation plan prepared to address the current and future
mobility needs of the city. It presents a long term vision and a
road map for moving towards an integrated and sustainable
transport system in the year 2046.
• The plan has been developed by the Surat Municipal
Corporation in close collaboration with SUDA and other
SURAT stakeholder agencies and involvement of Surat’s residents
through online forum and public consultation process. The
plan document is in line with the CMP guidelines of the
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
