The
effect of three input process parameters and two levels used in WEDM have been investigated to reveal their impact on output parameter i.e. material removal rate(MRR) by using taguchi methodology on OHNS EN-31 STEEL.
PHASE-I
Development
of experimental set up providing varying range of input parameters in WEDM and measuring the various response. Investigation of the working ranges and the working levels of the WEDM process parameter affecting the selected quality characteristics by using one factor at a time.
Investigation
of the effects of WEDM process parameters on quality characteristics. For e.g. Input parameters: Spark gap voltage, Pulse On Time ,Pulse Of Time while machining OHNS EN-31

OHNS
EN-31 It is a high carbon alloy steel which achieves a high degree of hardness with compressive strength and abrasion resistance. Chemical composition: C:0.9-1.2 ,Mn:0.32-0.75 ,Si:0.1-0.35 , S:0.040 , P:0.040 , Cr:1.00-1.6
Taguchi
methods are statistical methods are used to improve the quality of manufactured goods. Applied to engineering , biotechnology , marketing.
reduction in the variation of a product or process design to improve quality and lower the loss imparted to society. A proper product or process implementation strategy which can further reduce the level of variation.
