##Introduction to NDT

Definition: Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) refers to a range of techniques


used to evaluate the properties of a material, component, or assembly
without causing any damage. It is essential for ensuring the integrity,

#APPLICATION OF NDT:

NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) applications are critical in various industries


to evaluate materials and structures without causing damage. Common
applications include:

Aerospace: Inspecting aircraft components for cracks and defects.


Manufacturing: Quality control in production processes, such as weld
inspections.
Oil and Gas: Assessing pipeline integrity and detecting corrosion.

magnetic particle testing primarily detect surface and near-surface
flaws, potentially missing deeper issues.
 Operator Dependence: The accuracy of results can heavily depend on
the skill and experience of the operator, leading to potential
misinterpretation.

either x-rays or gamma rays to examine the internal structure of manufactured
components identifying any flaws or defects.
#4.Magnetic Particle testing:

 Magnetic particle testing is a non-destructive test method, which can be used to


inspect a variety of ferromagnetic components and products.
#5.Dye penetrate testing:

 Dye penetrant is a dye used by inspectors in dye penetrant inspections, an inspection


method in which inspectors apply a dye or liquid to a surface to identify defects in it.
#6.Eddy current testing:

 Eddy current testing is the process of running electronic probes through the length of
various types of tubes or along the surfaces of materials in order to find flaws in them.
