• What is FPGA?

• Internal Architecture of FPGA.

• Difference between FPGA and ASIC IC

with example.
What is FPGA ?
• Field-Programmable:
Can be programmed or reprogrammed by
the user in the field (after manufacturing), offering
flexibility in design and functionality.

• Gate Array:
Composed of a grid of configurable logic
blocks (CLBs), programmable interconnects, and
input/output (I/O) blocks.
Internal architecture of FPGA
Configurable logic block:-

Perform logic functions and include

elements like lookup tables (LUTs) and flip-
flops.
Programmable Interconnects
• Connect CLBs and I/O blocks, allowing
designers to route signals as needed.
Input/Output (I/O) Blocks:
• Interface the FPGA with external devices
and peripherals.
Clock Management:
• Synchronizes logic operations and
controls timing.
Memory Blocks:
• Provide on-chip storage for temporary
data or configuration information.
