    THESE DISASTERS COMPELLED GOVT. OF INDIA TO FORMULATE A

    DISASTER MANAGEMENT PLAN.


    DM ACT WAS PASSED BY PARLIAMENT ON 26th DEC, 2005. NDMA CONSTITUTED IN THE YEAR 2005 TO SUPERVISE THE

    DISASTER MANAGEMENT PLAN OF THE COUNTRY .

    CHAPTER VIII,Sec-44(1) OF DM ACT ASKED FOR CREATION OF

    NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF


    SPECIALIST RESPONSE TO A THREATENING DISASTER . SITUATION OR

    AS PER MHA ORDER DATED 19/01/2006 ,08 BNS ,02 EACH FROM BSF,CRPF,ITBP AND CISF WERE RAISED

    DURING 2010, 01 BN EACH OF BSF & CRPF WERE RAISED & CONVERTED INTO NDRF, THUS, MAKING TOTAL 10 BNs OF NDRF

    VISION OF NDRF
    AS PER CABINET NOTE NDRF TO BE RAISED ON THE LINES OF NSG AS A SPECIALIST STAND ALONE RAPID RESPONSE FORCE FOR MAN MADE & NATURAL DISASTERS.

    EQUIPPED WITH ALL STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENTS. HIGHLY TRAINED AND SKILLED FORCE TO RESPOND TO ANY KIND OF DISASTER WITH IN THE COUNTRY & ABROAD.

    ii) Men are trained in MFR (Medical First Responder) iii) Men are trained in Flood and mountain rescue operations. iv) Each unit has 36 deep divers. v) vi) 36 Dogs would be present with capability of search & rescue operations. Presence of specialized manpower viz. 36 Engineers, 9 Doctors, 36 Nurses, 18 Technicians, 18 Electricians etc. make it a highly specialized professional Force.
