The Trust for Public Land has ranked Los Angeles’ parks 88th out of 100 cities, based on access, investment, acreage and equity.

To mitigate those financial losses, the county adopted annual fees for this acreage and public safety services.

And in doing so, it has become “a big part” of the farm’s revenue, according to Tayler Cooley, despite the vast acreage the family farms year-round.

This year’s increase in acreage includes areas that were newly conserved through ancestral land return, land acquisitions, new conservation easements and other methods, the report says.
