They strolled past the ruins of the public library and ended less than a half-mile away at a town shopping center described as the heart of the community.

The restaurant’s location, which is far from the street in an obscure shopping center, is hard to spot.

Around 7:30 p.m. officers responded to a call at the fast food restaurant, which is located in a shopping center near the Coliseum in the 1000 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The evacuation encompassed iconic locations such as the TCL Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, the Dolby Theatre and Ovation Hollywood, the shopping center in the heart of Hollywood.

Some of the structures that survived — shopping centers, office buildings, a church, a school building, apartments, an occasional house — rose out of an otherwise featureless, battered and gray landscape.
