Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) announced on Tuesday, March 17, that it will open 60 food centers between 7-10am PT to provide two meals for students to take home while schools remain closed. Uber is supporting the city and school district by offering a 25% discount (up to $10) for trips taken to or from the pickup locations starting Thursday, March 19 at 7AM PT, extending through Friday, May 1st at 12PM PT. 
 
The code will be available for use Mondays through Fridays from 7AM to 12PM PT for UberX and UberXL trips to or from the pickup locations. To use it, riders enter the promo code “LAUSDMEALS” in the Payment section of the Uber rider app. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
 
How to redeem the ride discount:

*Maximum discount of $10 per ride. Valid only for UberX and UberXL trip(s) that begin or end at the pickup locations during the days and times listed above. Expires at 12pm PT on Friday May 1. To activate the promo code, apply it in the Uber app prior to requesting your ride and by 12pm PT on Friday May 1. Discount does not apply to surcharges, government fees, tolls, or tips and cannot be combined with other offers or discounts. For accounts with multiple valid promo codes, the promo with the highest savings will automatically apply to a rider’s next trip. Offer is non-transferable. Driver earnings will not be affected. Offer and terms are subject to change. Excludes Uber Eats and JUMP Bikes and trips taken on business profiles.
