Horacio’s story: gaining mobility independence through innovative transportation solutions
21 October 2024 / Global“Uber Transit partnerships [help] me get to work faster, easier, [and] on my own.”
Horacio is the executive director of a nonprofit for people with disabilities. Before Uber’s partnership with Pace Suburban Bus in Illinois, Horacio’s daily commute to work consumed an exhausting hour and a half. Now, he reclaims time for what matters: family.
Uber Transit, in partnership with transit agencies, provided more than 3 million Uber trips for underserved communities in 2023.
About the partnership
Horacio participates in Pace’s Rideshare Access Program (RAP), a supplementary service designed to improve transportation options for people with disabilities by using transportation network companies (TNCs), like Uber. Specifically created for ADA paratransit riders in Chicagoland, RAP promotes greater independence for riders by offering subsidized vouchers for Uber rides throughout Pace’s 6-county region. This empowers riders to stay active and contribute to their communities.
