The USAID office in Brazil is a Strategic Partnership Mission with the Government of Brazil. To maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of its programs, USAID works closely with the Government of Brazil and its key partners in the private sector and civil society.

Our bilateral work on biodiversity conservation, through the Partnership for the Conservation of Amazon Biodiversity (PCAB) in the Brazilian Amazon focuses on four main pillars: 1) supporting the consolidation and strong management of Brazil’s diverse protected areas system, from strict protection to sustainable use, and inclusive of Indigenous Territories;  2) the development of value chains and businesses that align with and support forest and biodiversity conservation; 3) foster private sector engagement, leadership and investments aimed at new economic models and activities that align with and support forest and biodiversity conservation; and 4) promote innovations, science, technology and partnerships across these areas.  In addition, USAID/Brazil continues its work on Trilateral Cooperation.
