The graduate program in Higher Education Administration at the University of Wyoming was the first of its kind in the Rocky Mountain region
and today enjoys increasing recognition for its contributions in the areas of adult
learning and teaching and higher education. Organized in 1950, the program initially
was operated jointly by the College of Education and the Division of Community Services,
headed by Clarence D. Jayne.
All Higher Education Administration students can work as administrators and professional
staff to supervise, design, deliver, and coordinate high quality formal and informal
education programs to adults across the lifespan.
We prepare students for entry-level leadership positions with our Master of Arts degree, and our Doctor of Education degree prepares students for advanced leadership positions.
